Toyota & Lexus Fuel Leaks

Toyota will be asking the owners of certain Toyota and Lexus vehicles, to return to their dealerships for problems affecting the fuel delivery system.

The first recall affects certain 2018 Toyota Camrys equipped with V6 engines. These vehicles use a two fuel delivery pipe system connected to dual fuel hoses in the engine compartment. It is possible that one or both of the pipes may have not been properly connected during assembly. This condition could lead to fuel odors, fuel leaks and a possible engine fire. Those receiving notices will be asked to return to their dealership to have the fuel pipes inspected and correctly installed, as necessary.

The second recall affects certain 2016-2018 Lexus GS F, 2018 Lexus LC500 and 2015-2018 Lexus RC F vehicles equipped with 5.0L V8 2UR-GSE gasoline engines with two high pressure fuel pumps. Under certain operating conditions, there is a possibility that the pulsation damper in one of the high pressure fuel pumps could become damaged due to resonance of the fuel pressure. This could lead to noises, vibrations, and over time, cause the pump cover to crack. If the vehicle continues to be operated under these conditions, fuel leaks and a possible vehicle fire could result. Dealers will correct the problem by replacing the high pressure fuel pumps.
