Hyundai will be contacting the owners of certain 2016 Genesis Coupe vehicles because of a safety problem affecting the drivers side airbag.
Hyundai will be contacting the owners of certain 2016 Genesis Coupe vehicles because of a safety problem affecting the drivers side airbag.
According to the defect report, the bolts securing the driver side air bag to the horn sub- assembly may have been insufficiently torqued during assembly. When the air bag deploys it could detach from the steering wheel, increasing the chance of injury to the driver.
Hyundai will notify owners to return to their Hyundai dealer to have the drivers side airbag sub assembly mounting bolts inspected and tightened as necessary. Hyundai's number for this recall is 192 and the NHTSA campaign number is 20V-248.
