Safety Issue:

Triumph Motorcycles America, Ltd. (Triumph) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Speed Triple RS, and Speed Triple RR motorcycles. The engine may overheat and cause the fan motor to fail, resulting in a coolant leak.

Potential Risk:
A coolant leak can increase the risk of injury.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the original engine software calibration with a new version, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 26, 2024. Owners may contact Triumph customer service at 1-678-854-2010. Triumph's number for this recall is SRAN 620.

Safety Issue:

Triumph Motorcycles America, Ltd. (Triumph) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Speed Triple RS and Speed Triple RR motorcycles. The radiator fan may overheat, causing the fan motor to fail.

Potential Risk:
An inoperative fan motor can result in leaking or spraying hot coolant, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will install an additional heatshield, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 1, 2023. Owners may contact Triumph's customer service at 1-678-854-2010. Triumph's number for this recall is SRAN 605.

Safety Issue:

Triumph Motorcycles America, Ltd. (Triumph) is recalling certain 2022 Speed Triple RS and Speed Triple RR motorcycles. The rear brake disc bolts may loosen.

Potential Risk:
A loose rear brake disc bolt may contact other components, preventing the wheel from rotating freely and increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the rear brake disc bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 27, 2022. Owners may contact Triumph customer service at 1-678-854-2010. Triumph's number for this recall is SRAN 596.

Defect Description:

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

Potential Consequences:

The contact owned a 2022 Triumph Speed Triple motorcycle. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 MPH, the motorcycle did not stop immediately while the brake pedal was depressed, causing the motorcycle to crash into another vehicle. The contact suffered two fractured ankles and received medical attention. No police report was filed. The motorcycle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. Prior to the failure, the dealer was made aware that while driving, a grinding sound was coming from the motorcycle and a burning odor was detected. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V207000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) associated with the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 22.

Potential Consequences:

The contact owns a 2022 Triumph Speed RS 1200. The contact stated while driving at 35-40 MPH and approaching a curve, the brake pedal was depressed and both the front and rear wheel inadvertently locked. The motorcycle rolled over and crashed into the pavement and the contact was knocked unconscious. There were no warning lights illuminated. A police report was not filed. The contact did not immediately seek medical assistance, however, when he went to the hospital, he was informed he had sustained fractured ribs, a fractured sternum, punctured lungs, and a concussion. The contact was still undergoing treatment. The dealer was notified of the failure and the motorcycle was towed to the contact's residence, then it was taken to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the failure as a computer fault that caused a traction control, ABS and inertia failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and was still negotiating compensation for the damage caused by the failure. The motorcycle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 1,300.
