TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS

my tire went flat on saturday july 12th, 2008 and i went to a local gas station and they checked the tire for me. they took it apart and found no hole in the tire and realized that my valve was broken with a sensor attached to it. they took the part out and replaced it with a regular valve without the sensor. i called suzuki in plaistow, new hampshire where i bought the car and they referred me to the hooksett location in new hampshire. i brought my car into the hooksett location on july 19th, 2008. i currently do not have the piece i gave it to the service department. i also found out the tire was no good because it kept going flat and caused damage. they couldn't replace the tire itself for free so i had to come out of pocket and pay for a new tire. they replaced the valve with sensor attached for free, but i am concerned that this will keep happening to all my tires and that i will get into an accident.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

i have a 2007 suzuki forenza; it was new when i purchased it. however, i just had a strange instance last week in which the brake lights would not go out after i turned off the car. i had to drain the battery just to find out whether or not they would go out, which they did not. i ended up taking it to the dealership and they had to replace the battery and brake switch. this cost about $275 altogether, however i am not sure if this has happened with other forenzas yet and wanted to report it, as brakelights being out someone could run into you if this happens. i have not had it happen again but if it does i will report it.

'08)..the dash covers for the radio, clock & shift have always become extremely hot to touch, including the metal part of the ignition key. whenever the car is driven..other parts of the dash get warm..these listed parts get hotter, this condition is frightening!..sometimes there is an associated electrical type odor! the cd player cannot be used, the cd's get too hot to handle. the dealer has experienced this problem & the manufacturer has also..they both refuse to correct it.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

the problem started on 7/12/09. i had just gotten an oil change at wal-mart in jacksonville, ar, and as soon as i turned on the car the check engine light was on. wal-mart of course denied any damages, but stated if something was done on their part they would reimburse me for the damages. from there i went to auto zone and was told that the codes were 700 and 705, which referred to the transmission sensor. the very next day the check engine light went off. long story short, since that time the light has come on several times. prior to the light coming on, my car would be in drive but would hesitate and feel as if it is in neutral. also, a line would go across the d (drive) on my dashboard, and all of the other gears would appear to be something different on the dashboard (i.e. p (park) on the gear shift would read r (reverse) on the dashboard. i feel that this should not be happening on a 2007 model car. there are 62, 000 miles on this car, which are mostly highway miles. this is very frustrating and from what i have read on the web, this is a very common problem.

my daughter owns a 2007 forenza; she was recently driving down the road and began to notice a hesitation on the vehicle while driving; she then felt an acceleration and a deceleration on the vehicle - as if it wanted to stall and shut off. a few days later she was about to park and felt a sudden jerk and funny sound coming from the engine compartment - she turned off the vehicle and waited for approximately one hour; the vehicle started and she was told to leave it at home. the following day i brought it in to a suzuki dealer for service - i was told that the transmission sensor needed to be replaced - thank god my 19 year old did not get involved in an auto accident to the acceleration of this vehicle. please have this sensor checked out on all your suzuki forenza's. oh and give thanks to the fact that my warranty still had 3,000 miles left on it. i am now in doubt of this suzuki - i would feel much more comfortable if suzuki would extend their warranty to 5 years/50,000 miles instead 3 years/36,000 miles. i believe if suzuki believes in their vehicles then they should honor the request.

trying to shift into gear the car jerks and the display blinks, not indicating what gear the car is in. the only gears that show are d and p. when trying to accelerate the car moves very slowly and doesn't go any faster than 35-40 mph. diagnostic test show it is the transmission range sensor. i see that this is a common problem in this model vehicle and thinks it should be recalled and fixed at the expense of the dealer not the consumer. this car has only had problems from the beginning and the manufacturer needs to realize this and assume some responsibility for their product.

in august of 2011, when i would put the car into first gear, the engine light would come on and the car would not go out of first gear until i pulled over, shut the car off and started all over again. since then the engine light would stay on for a day and then nothing would be wrong. also, when i put the car into reverse the "r" on the display would have an diagonal line through it and the would only go into first gear again until i shut the car off again. these incidents have happened at least once a week since. i never know when the car will do this and i am afraid that it will do this and not fix itself again and then be stuck in first gear. the deal wants to charge me $200.00 to fix this. i think it should be a recall item.

i have a 2007 forenza and yesterday as i was putting the car into reverse, it made a loud clunking noise. the gear selector display on the dash seemed to go haywire displaying all the letters (d, r, n, etc) with a diagonal line through it. it then went back to normal, then the "check engine" light came on. this morning as i was getting ready to take the car to autozone, it did not make any noise. they hooked up the diagnostic computer and it came up with codes po700 and po705, which varies in wording but seems like it's the transmission range sensor.

TIRES

on may 2, 2011 i purchased 3 riken raptor 85v 195/155vr5 tires from aspen tire & auto, inc. in wilmington, north carolina for my 2007 suzuki forenza. on may 13, 2012 (1 year later) while driving on a paved road after a turn left onto a two lane road with a speed limit of 40 mph we suddenly heard what sounded like a very loud bang, following by a significant drop on the right passenger side of the car and many more loud banging, and thudding sounds. we did not hit anything in the road. the vehicle was dropped down on the right side and was extremely difficult to drive. we had to drive approx. 100ft or soto pull over as there is no room on this small paved road to pull over without impeding traffic. when we looked at the car we could see the side front fender had completely pulled out from the car, the tire in shreds and the rim looked as if it was smashed. the tire side wall was blown out with the tread/belt was completely intact however cleanly sheared off right along the seam. we are sure that the pressure on all the tires was inline as my husband had checked and corrected only the week before following dealer manufacturer recommended for both the car and tire. we check our tire pressure regularly and in fact we use the average of the lower pressure recommended for the car and the high pressure or max recommended my michelin. the treads were not worn and there was no prior damage or wear. after spending much of my time and money to send the tire to their inspectors - michelin denied paying for the damages which have cost $373.28 out of pocket, stating that they determined that the tire was run-flat. the pictures they sent to me to compare damages of a run-flat tire look nothing like my tire damage and we are diligent about checking the tire pressure. i don't believe that their across the board determination matches what happened to my tire and feel that this particular tire may have been defective.

i could really use some assistance. i have a 2007 forenza and yesterday as i was putting the car into reverse, it made a loud clunking noise. the gear selector display on the dash seemed to go haywire displaying all the letters (d, r, n, etc) with a diagonal line through it. it then went back to normal, then the "check engine" light came on. they hooked up the diagnostic computer and it came up with codes po700 and po705, which varies in wording but seems like it's the transmission range sensor.i have read that many other people have had the same problem. this is a problem that suzuki should take care of a sensor cost to those who bought their cars.

when i was in park i put it in reverse the car didn't recognize the car was in reverse and it had a line across it and check engine light came on. i put the car back in park and then was able to drive it, and the light went off, but the while driving the car the line will go across the drive and the car will no longer accelerate, which can be dangerous on the highway. i brought it into pepboys they said a transmission code was popped up, but they reset the codes, even though i didn't tell the guy to do that. now the problem occurs but the check engine light doesn't come on. i brought it to a suzuki dealership and they said they think it is a transmission sensor, but the diagnostic check said it was fine, and they said wait until the check engine light comes back on, but the problem now occurs without the check engine light coming on. but i'm scared to drive it on the road because at anytime i could lose power and be injured in a car accident. i had it towed to a local mechanic and hope they can repair it.

i recently lost my car which was a '07 suzuki forenza to what has been described as a mechanical car fire brought on by some sort of mechanical failure. i believe this was a culmination of a series of failures over time despite whatever action i took to avoid it. initially i encountered intense flickering with my headlamps. headlights would stay on even after removing the key from the ignition. i believe that the consistence of this occurrence, has caused my vehicle's battery to fail. i ultimately had to have the battery replaced. i would also have a toxic smell come through the ventilation system from time to time. it smelled like something burning and melting. however, i was never able to determine what it was. this was going on intermitently for quite sometime. then eventually my car was lost to the mechanical car failure fire. i was fortunate to get out of the vehicle with only minor injuries such as burns and smoke inhalation. incident date: 12/28/2013 incident location: lake worth florida palm beach sheriffs office / lake worth police case # 13161702
