tl* the contact owns a 2014 subaru legacy. the contact stated that the fabric used on the rear deck shelf located behind the rear seats of the vehicle caused a hazing and glaring effect from the sunlight coming through the rear window. the contact indicated that the hazing and glaring effect impaired the rear window visibility. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the defect was caused by the color of the rear deck shelf materials. the manufacturer was notified of the defect and agreed to change the color of the rear deck shelf materials. the failure mileage was 20.

the mechanical adjustment for the upper seat back does not engage properly. it requires the driver to pull the seat-back forward to engage, otherwise the handle will remain the up position. the dealer replaced the seat under warranty, but it did not fix the problem. the device manager stated that the mechanical seats have that issue on several of their vehicles, including different years. if in an accident and the seat is not engaged properly it could result in injury.
