Defect Description:
SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
The contact owns 2019 Polaris Ranger XP1000. The contact stated that the brake light switch failed to start the vehicle and activate the brake pedal. The contact used an excessive amount of force and attempts to depress the brake pedal and start the vehicle. The failure became more persistent and the number of attempts to start the vehicle had increased. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was a new part to fix the vehicle; however, there was no recall for the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 500.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 POLARIS RANGER 900 (NA). WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, AN EXPLOSION WAS HEARD WITHOUT WARNING OR AN IMPACT. THE CONTACT CALLED LOVE MOTORSPORTS AT 352-621-3678 (LOCATED AT 2081 S SUNCOAST BLVD, HOMOSASSA, FL 34448) AND WAS INFORMED TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THEIR SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION BLEW UP. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE SAME TRANSMISSION WOULD BE PLACED BACK IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.
