Pj Trailers
Safety Issue:
PJ Trailers is recalling certain 2022-2024 LD, LY, LX, LS, CC, DD, TJ, and TS trailers equipped with a Demco EZ Latch Gooseneck Coupler. The coupler mounting bolts may loosen and cause the coupler to separate from the inner tube.

TRAILER HITCHES
Potential Consequences:
The contact stated that his business owns a 2023 PJ Trailer. The contact stated that the trailer was usually towed by a medium-duty 2017 Ford F-550. The contact stated that during routine maintenance inspections it was noticed that the bolts on the gooseneck coupler had loosened. The contact stated that the bolts were tightened, and the trailer was placed back in service. However, during a subsequent maintenance check, it was noted that one of the coupler bolts had fractured. The contact had taken the trailer to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the couplers needed to be replaced. The trailer was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V319000 (Trailer Hitches). The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
