Piaggio Group Americas. Inc. (Piaggio) is recalling certain 2020 Moto Guzzi V 85 TT motorcycles. The footrest mounting pin retaining clip may break, allowing the pin to disconnect and the footrest to fall off the motorcycle.

Defect Description:
STRUCTURE
Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2021 Moto Guzzi V85Tt. The contact stated while riding at undisclosed speed. a driver pulled up next to me and informed me that the rear wheel was “crooked” The contact pulled off to the side of the road and inspected the vehicle. Turns out that one of the pin connections that connects the swingarm to the rest of the subframe had either become disconnected or had never been connected properly from the factory. The contact was able to slowly was able to ride to their residence. The contact had the motorcycle towed to a local dealer to have inspected but the contact had not heard anything back from the dealer to see if they diagnosed the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 700.
