my car is equipped with a push button start and two times in a row when i pressed the button to start the engine it just made this loud "screech"/mechanical sound. it has done this two separate days (2/20/204 & 2/22/2014). both times it did it twice and started on the 3rd attempt.

on april 18, 2014 only 2 months after purchasing their brand new 2014 mitsubishi mirage my parents were hit head on after a person swerved into their lane. speed was not a factor, the investigation is still under way, and we still don't know why they both died (driver with massive head trauma including a broken jaw, passenger with massive abdominal trauma.) there will be an autopsy on both vehicles, but the driver of the other vehicle walked away with a broken leg and heel. why? i have looked long and hard at this new mitsubushi and i am wondering why their new safety system that would effectively keep them in a steel cell during an accident was compromised.
