Mclaren Automotive Incorporated
NHTSA Campaign: 21V561000 SAFETY RECALL
19 Vehicles Affected
Recall Date: Jul 23, 2021
Safety Issue:

McLaren Automotive Incorporated (McLaren) is recalling certain 2020 570S, GT, 2019 600LT, and 2019-2020 720S vehicles. The brake assembly banjo bolt may be missing the holes that supply brake fluid to the caliper, which would cause the brakes to fail on one corner of the vehicle.

Potential Risk:
Brake failure in one corner can cause the vehicle to pull to one side during braking, and increase the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will inspect and replace the banjo bolt, as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 1, 2021. Owners may contact McLaren customer service at 1-646-429-8916. McLaren's number for this recall is SRC 00 C 001.

NHTSA Campaign: 20V231000 SAFETY RECALL
2.8K Vehicles Affected
Recall Date: Apr 23, 2020
Safety Issue:

McLaren Automotive Incorporated (McLaren) is recalling certain 2016-2020 720S, 2019 Senna, 2020 GT, and 2017-2019 570GT vehicles. The Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) foam pad underneath the fuel tank may retain moisture and corrode the fuel tank, potentially causing a fuel leak.

Potential Risk:
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
FREE Recall Solution:
McLaren will notify owners, and dealers will remove the NVH foam pad from the vehicle and inspect the fuel tank. If the fuel tank is found to have corrosion, it will be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began June 17, 2020. Owners may contact McLaren's Client Services department at 855-202-8815, Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm EST or customerservice.na@mclaren.com.

Defect Description:

SUSPENSION

Potential Consequences:

McLaren automotive has a known suspension accumulator problem on earlier year 720s models. This is a major safety concern as the suspension is a huge safety component in all vehicles. They have a revised updated part to fix this, but it has not yet issued a recall to have the manufacture responsible for fixing this , not the consumer. This should have been a recall for long time now but since they are low productions that's why it probably hasn't been issued yet since the updated part is newly released, but they do have a fix to this, but it comes at the cost of the consumer as of now until a recall is issued. Since this is a safety concern I think the nhtsa should be aware of this issue and do something about this safety concern and have the manufacture issue the recall as soon as possible. here is the service bulletin that should be a recall [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
