my 2007 lexus is250 awd has started having complete headlight failures that can be simply corrected by turning the lights off and back on. these failures can happen anytime while driving or at rest.

tl* the contact owns a 2007 lexus is 250 equipped with michelin sport tires, size 225/40/zr18. the contact stated that the tread of the tires separated, causing the rear driver side tire to blow while driving approximately 30 mph. the tires were not inspected for the failure. the manufacturer was not contacted. the dot, serial number and vin were not available. the approximate failure mileage of the tires was 150,000. the vehicle failure mileage was 150,000.

i have an 07 is250. the steering makes a scraping noise, very loud while in park and turning wheel in either direction. sounds similar to my wife's sonogram session at doctors office. steering is a little stiffer and slightly locks in place while driving. i took to a lexus dealership and was told that it needed a new electronic steering column assembly. $2500! really? is this connected to the steering recall back in 2009? help

8.about 90 minutes after parking the car, dave went to start lexus is250 to go to a restaurant to meet family. the car would not start. so he took a cab. the next morning (saturday july 31, 2010) he jump started the lexus is250 and drove it to , a toyota dealership which was the nearest repair facility listed in the lexus is250¿�s navigation system as a repair facility system. the dealer advised that it could not be able be reimbursed for warrantee service but tested and advised that the battery was bad. dave bought a new battery from them. the nearest lexus dealer was in syracuse, 90 miles away and was closed. 9.the lexus is250 then started fine. dave drove to the birthday lunch after which the lexus is250 again could not be started without being jumped started. dave then returned to the motel to change into hiking cloths. the lexus is250 again would not start. dave cut his stay short and loaded the lexus is250 up because he did not want to be stuck in summer sunday traffic with road construction delays while the lexus is250 was erratic. daves plan had originally been to drive from ithaca to ocean city, maryland to spend time with his children and grandchildren. dave decided it would be better to go directly home and take his always reliable subaru to the ocean. 10.it was a dark saturday night when dave had crossed the new york � pennsylvania state line and was going through a mountain pass when the lexus is250 became very scary. all of the lights and all apparent electric power went out momentarily and came back on. this repeated itself more than 3 dozen times while he drove straight through to his home. another odd problem was that when he used the switches up close the windows, 3 of the 4 would close then come back down between 1 and 2.

"the check engine light may illuminate for reasons of unrelated condition." lexus corporation suspects the cause of problem is carbon deposit accumulation in the intake valves and a replacement of piston ring set and or pistons may be indicated. if this is what's occurring inside the engine and is inherent to is250 models only ,then it would seem to a reasonable person there is a design and potential safety flaw in these vehicle models. also, because of this design flaw, my vehicle is now having catalytic failure and a what sounds like a rattle during a cold crank start of the vehicle. however, when a vehicle is taken to a dealer, the lexus dealers are quick to dismiss the problem by the claims that the symptoms are not replicable enough for them to verify the problem. the temporary loss of power may one day cause the driver to have a serious accident should the steering wheel lockup or should the problem happen during hill ascends, which may cause the vehicle to roll back into traffic or off the main road. why is lexus corporation not making this issue a safety recall, and rather, just treating it as a concern nature. i would beseech the traffic safety board to please look into this matter as to avoid any injury or worse, a loss of innocent life. this is my first lexus vehicle and it has become a very disappointing experience.

while driving at night the left (driver side) headlight lamp will just go out. then i have to turn off all of the lights completely and turn them back on immediately, then it will come back on, but sometimes i can tell its out by looking at the reflection in a vehicle in front of me, then other times i don't know it's out unless someone flashes me and i'm afraid the police are going to pull me over and give me a ticket for a headlight being out. i feel there is a short somewhere because it comes back on if i turn off the lights completely and turn them back on real quick. it happens at least every night (or morning dusk to dawn hours), sometimes twice a night. besides it being annoying it is dangerous not having both lights on while driving at night or in the rain.

i purchased a brand new 2007 lexus is 250 from park place lexus in grapevine, tx. about two years ago, the dashboard panel started to get very soft and gummy during hot days. small pieces of the dashboard panel came off easily. ever since, the dashboard panel has been getting sticky and melting. the melting dashboard panel causes a glare reflection on the windshield that prevents the driver from being able to see road clearly while driving. it's a dangerous situation. lexus has refused to replace the defective dashboard panel even though they're fully aware of the issue.

i was driving south in my car during the middle of the day, and the glare from my dashboard was so bad i wasn't able to see a car appx 30 feet in front of me. there was no accident, but due to lexus using defective materials for their dashboard, it has melted and become shiny enough to be a real danger as the glare fully impedes view while driving in sunlight. as the passenger airbag is also contained in the dash, i have heard of a danger of it being triggered as well due to this issue. i contacted both lexus customer support as well as my local lexus dealership. i found online that there was purportedly a service bulletin that was issued to by lexus (i obtained a copy online) to dealers in 2011 informing them of the material problem and availability of replacement parts (affected both dash and door panels), but bulletin this was not communicated to owners (i.e. no recall), so i was never made aware and was out of warranty at the time the bulletin was issued as it was only effective 48 months from in-service date even though my model year was included in the affected vehicles. the most they were willing to cover was 50% of the replacement part cost. my responsibility would have been $2800 to fully re-mediate the issues (dash and doors), which i declined as i feel lexus should be fully accountable as the problem is admittedly due to faulty material used in the manufacture of certain years/vins of their vehicles. this also impacts my resale value even though that alone is not safety-related, it should be considered as well. i took cell phone video of the glare from my dash that impeded view and have that available if needed.

the door panels from front and passenger side are melting very bad. if i stick my nail by mistake, nail goes through and i get the sticky black rubbery material in nail. i pay too much for the car and lexus only replace the dash board because it was also melting.

at start up, the car rattles. after several complaints to the dealer several other "fixes" have been done. one fix was to replace the piston rings under recall. i have now started to record all car starts with a camera. in doing so i was able to get the rattle on video. upon showing this to my service advisor and his superior, they said it had something to do with the cam. several times before i was told, oh it is no big deal. a cam issue is a very big deal, and now i am being told that the vvt is causing the cam and cam sprocket to shake. this shaking not only creates the rattle noise on start up but is a warning that the sprocket is falling apart. i have 67,000 miles on my car and it is a 2007, therefore pushing me closer and closer to being out of warranty. the dealer stated it is $2500 fix. these cars are all lemons. more of them have the same identical problems, than those that don't have problems. i believe research should be done on the is as a whole, especially the motors as they are prone to many, many defects. i should not have to pay for poor engineering and poor quality/faulty parts. this should be the dealer, corporate, and the manufacturers responsibility. if i could i would sell the car back to the dealer. i purchased this car used june 2012 and within a few weeks i had problems with it, should have been a tell tale sign.

i have a 2007 lexus is 250. i've had it for 7 years now and love everything about it. but about 2-3 years ago, the vinyl interior starting getting sticky. it's gotten worse that if you touch it the color comes off on your fingers. i have a big shiny area on the dashboard which reflects on the front windshield and makes visibility difficult. i know there's others here in south florida with the same issue, that have gone to lexus and have been told they have to pay to replace it, that it's not covered.

for several years dash and other rubber parts of interior are melting and forming a gummy/glue type substance that causes permanent damage to appearance and sticks to anything that touches it including damaging clothing. lexus made me pay for labor to replace dash but refused to replace door components saying it was too expensive to fix and they insisted i pay for the entire cost of replacing all 4 doors. this is ridiculous that car owners have to pay for fixing a manufacturing defect that is caused by using a rubber that degrades over time and becomes a gooey substance.

my lexus is 250 has a melting and sticky dashboard as well as all four door sides and its handle bars. every time i touch on the dashboard due to the top of the driver's wheel being so close, i had it on my fingertip being sticky and i have to wipe it off but still left some black mark on my finger. also everytime i put the windshield cover to protect the heat from going inside, it placed some marks on the dashboard. it has been so bad to smell toxic chemicals coming from the dashboard while i'm in the car driving. need to say more ? i am afraid it may give me an illness in the future from smelling it into my lungs. can't we have a recall from lexus and do something about it real quickly ? it would be real nice to replace the old dashboard and sides with a best qualified standard with the materials that is safe that won't hurt the customer and won't damage from the sun from melting again. i see lexus changed the dashboard material to some kind of leather or thick leather that won't melt. i paid alot of money for my car and i'm real disappointed about the quality of the interior of the car i pay for. i had an old car honda civic for a long time and i never experienced a similar problem with a dashboard. very good qualities in the interior in the honda civic back the 1980s. now 2005 to 2007 lexus used a cheaper kind of material on the dashboard ?? we customers paid alot of hard money earned for this car we love. thank you.
