Safety Issue:
Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. TRAILER PURCHASED NEW IN APRIL OF 2017. DURING A THANKSGIVING TRIP I NOTICED WHAT SEEMS TO BE A TIRE DELAMINATING. WE REPLACED IT WITH THE SPARE. UPON INSPECTION WHEN WE RETURNED HOME I NOTICED THAT THE WEIGHT RATINGS OF THE TIRES DON'T SEEM TO MATCH WHAT THE FACTORY IS SPECIFYING THE TRAILER WEIGHS. THE TIRES ARE TRAILER KING ST225/75R15 WITH A MAX WEIGHT RATING OF 2,540LBS EACH. THE TRAILER HAS FOUR (4) WITH A DUAL AXLE SETUP. THESE ARE FACTORY ISSUED TIRES. THE GVWR OF THE TRAILER IS 10,500LBS WHICH CALCULATES AS 340LBS IN EXCESS OF THE TIRE CAPACITY. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF REPLACING ALL THE TIRES ON THE TRAILER AS I CANNOT AFFORD A BLOW-OUT AND I THINK I'M ON THE PATH TO ONE WITH THESE TIRES.
