Defect Description:
ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2021 Kawasaki ZG1400E Concours. The contact stated while riding approximately 35-40 MPH, the motorcycle lost electrical power and stalled. The warning message "Key Fob Not Found" was illuminated. The contact stated that upon veering into the left turn lane to make a turn, the vehicle restarted inadvertently. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer who informed the contact that they could not replicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure had been occurring intermittently. The contact stated that the traction control, ABS, fuel injector warning lights were illuminated; and the warning message "Do not Operate the vehicle" was displayed intermittently. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure was draining the battery causing him to replace the battery four times. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to a second unknown dealer. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer and the dealer informed the contact they could not replicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15.
