258 Vehicles Affected
Recall Date: Mar 19, 2021
Safety Issue:

Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Isuzu NPR, Reach, 2016-2020 Isuzu NPR XD, NPR HD, NQR, 2016-2021 Isuzu NRR, 2017-2020 Chevrolet 4500XD, 4500HD, 5500HD, and 2020 Chevrolet 5500XD vehicles. The U-bolt nuts for the rear axle may not have been properly tightened and may loosen, causing the axle to misalign.

Potential Risk:
The misalignment may cause the propeller shaft to separate, causing a loss of power to the rear wheels and a stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Isuzu will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if needed, replace and tighten the rear axle U-bolt nuts, free of charge. The recall began on April 23, 2021. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2103.

Recall Date: Nov 14, 2017
Safety Issue:

Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2011-2017 Isuzu NPR, 2008 NPR HD and NPR-HD Gas, 2011-2018 NPR HD and NRR, 2015-2018 NPR XD, 2012-2018 NQR, 2012-2017 NPR Gas and NPR-HD Gas, 2016-2017 Chevrolet Low Cab Forward 3500 HD, 3500 and 4500 and 2017-2018 Chevrolet Low Cab Forward 4500 HD, 4500 XD, 5500 HD and 5500 XD vehicles, equipped with certain Walter Kidde Plastic-Handle Fire Extinguishers, models FC10 and FC110. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.

Potential Risk:
In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
FREE Recall Solution:
Isuzu will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde to get a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in December 2017. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638 or Walter Kidde customer service at 1-855-262-3540 or they may also visit www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" to order replacement fire extinguishers free of charge. The affected vehicles have a throttle pedal that may get stuck under the steel stopper bolt, causing the pedal to remain in the full throttle position. Note: In gasoline models only.

SERVICE BRAKES

Vacuum pump on the motor that supplies vacuum to the brake booster. We have replaced this pump (Isuzu PART #: 97241035) on this vehicle 3 times in less than a week. These parts were Isuzu brand and the exact part number for our VIN and application. Went to hit the brakes, the brakes were not working and extremely hard to press, and not slowing the truck down. Driver ran into another vehicle. Yes, the problem has been reproduced multiple times by our internal tech and local Isuzu dealer. Also can be found on different forums with exact issue (see attached). Each time the part has failed, we have sent it back to dealer. No prior warning until the brakes were applied and not working.
