May 22, 2024
Defect Description:

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Potential Consequences:

Horn fails to work when the truck is cold. After the steering wheel has been moved during operation, the horn eventually begins to work. I had a vehicle drift into my lane on the highway, and when I went to use the horn, it failed to work. Fortunately, I was able to swerve to avoid the other vehicle hitting the front of my cab. I bought this truck brand new from Freightliner. They state that there is no longer a warranty on the horn, which in my opinion should be viewed as a safety item and should not have failed in less than (3) years and under 16,000 miles.
