Defect Description:
UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Potential Consequences:
On [XXX] , a little before [XXX], my wife and I heard a loud "CRASH"-sound outside our house. Upon investigating the source of the noise, we discovered that the awning of our 2022 Forest River Shasta 18FQ travel trailer had completely fallen off the unit. Please note that this occurred on a sunny day with no wind, so weather was not a contributing factor. The awning at the time was totally retracted. We can only attribute this damage to structural failure of the awning's attachment to the body side of the trailer. We are very thankful that the trailer was stationary in our driveway and were not on the highway with it when this happened, as it could have resulted in an accident, very serious injury to someone, or even worse. We are providing photos of the damage referred to, for review. The manufacturer, Forest River RV, subsequently has paid for repairs and replacement of the entire awning assembly under vehicle warranty. Photos of the damage were provided to Forest River as well. Before the occurrence, there was no indication at all of imminent component failure. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Defect Description:
TIRES
Potential Consequences:
We purchased the Shasta travel trailer on 2/23/2023, & took it camping twice. When picking up trailer from the dealership after getting warranty work done on 5/16/2023, I noticed the spare had exploded. The tires had all the correct pressure, this spare had never hit the ground.
