I OWN A 2014 FORD 5.0 MUSTANG GT WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING WHEN POWER TO THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOST. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART TO GET THE POWER STEERING TO KICK BACK IN. THIS MADE THE CAR HARD TO TURN OUT OF NO WHERE WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I COULD'VE HIT ANOTHER CAR IN THE PROCESS HAD I NOT BRAKE IN TIME. i was driving a 2014 ford mustang convertible from the long beach airport (rental) and lost steering on the freeway at about 60 mph. i was in the far right lane and as i approached full speed, the car began to veer into the lane to the left of me. as i tried to correct, there was a delayed response by the steering mechanism by about 3-4 seconds. the car then veered back right, and again, another delayed response. i was veering widely between the width of two lanes while this was occurring. this continued for about a minute until i was able to slow down and exit the freeway.

i've had two situations within a two weeks span of each other. both times i lost steering power while in the parking lot, and a steering power error crossed the information board on the dash. the first time i was pulling out of my parking spot in 1st gear and the steering stopped working. the second time i was pulling in to a parking spot and lost power while turning into a parking space. i own a 2014 ford 5.0 mustang gt with a manual transmission and the car was still running when power to the steering wheel was lost. i had to turn the car off and restart to get the power steering to kick back in. this made the car hard to turn out of no where without any warning. i could've hit another car in the process had i not brake in time. there is a without a doubt a problem with the power steering system.

tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford mustang. the contact stated that while driving at high speeds, the wheel stem valves would rupture and cause the tires to deflate. the contact stated that while driving approximately 140 mph on a racing track, the stem valve ruptured on two of the four tires, causing the tires to deflate. the contact indicated that the malfunction occurred on one front and one rear tire but was unable to indicate the position of the tires. the vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer and the stem valves were replaced. the contact indicated that in a separate incident, the stem valve on a rear tire rupture while traveling at high speeds over 120 mph. the manufacturer was notified of the defect. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 4000.

while driving the mustang (which is a manual transmission) i noticed that the speed of the car doesn't decelerate when i take my foot off the gas pedal. the car is given gas (more than an idle amount) when i do not depress the gas pedal. it happens in all 6 gears but it's most noticeable when in first or second. also, while the car is in gear, the engine fights to slow down while depressing the brake pedal. this doesn't happen every time but when it occurs while in a parking lot with people around it becomes a serious safety issue.

i was t boned in the passanger door the kid that hit was probably traveling at about 55 .. y car was totaled and not one air bag deployed . the light is on like they did but not one came out.
