THE CAR HAD 295 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. NO STONES OR ROCKS HIT THE WINDSHIELD. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY SALES PERSON TO REPORT THE CRACK AS I FELT IT WAS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT RATHER THAN DRIVER NEGLIGENCE FIXED BY AN INSURANCE CLAIM. SALES PERSON TALKED TO A MANAGER WHO SAID IF I HADN'T PURCHASED THE INCIDENTAL INSURANCE "COMPLETE TITANIUM PLUS", THEN IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPORTED TO MY INSURANCE. THE NEXT DAY I WENT INTO THE DEALERSHIP WITH MY BROTHER, TALKED TO THE SALESMAN WHO SAID THIS ISN'T COVERED UNDER THE 3 YR/36,000 MILE WARRANTY (WHICH IT ISN'T). HOWEVER, IN FORD'S OWNER MANUAL THERE IS A 12,000 MILE 12 MONTH WARRANTY AGAINST MANUFACTURE DEFECTS. SALES PERSON BROUGHT OUT THE USED CAR SALES MANAGER WHO TRIED TO TELL US THIS WAS NOT MY FAULT, NOT HIS FAULT AND THIS IS WHY A PERSON CARRIES INSURANCE. WE TOLD HIM THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE ON A BRAND NEW CAR WHICH I HAD LESS THAN A WEEK WITH ONLY 295 MILES ON IT. WE TOLD HIM THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND HE NEEDS TO WORK WITH FORD TO FIX IT. HE TRIED TO PLAY IT OFF AS HE THOUGHT I BOUGHT A USED CAR (APPEARED TO BE A GIMMICK) AND TOLD SALES PERSON TO BE MORE CLEAR ON NEW VS. USED (AGAIN, APPEARED TO BE A GIMMICK). HIS TUNE CHANGED AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT LOOKED AT THE CRACK AND SNAPPED PHOTOS OF WINDSHIELD TO SUBMIT TO FORD. TURNS OUT, FORD IS GOING TO FIX THE WINDSHIELD WITH NO COST TO ME. THE DEALER IS ALSO GIVING ME A LOANER CAR WHILE THE WORK IS BEING DONE. ford edge 2014 Complaints

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

five days after taking delivery of my 2014 ford edge i got into the vehicle and noticed a hairline crack in the windshield starting roughly in the center from the base of the windshield going upward in a sinuous direction. the car had 295 miles on it at the time. no stones or rocks hit the windshield. i immediately called my sales person to report the crack as i felt it was a manufacture defect rather than driver negligence fixed by an insurance claim. sales person talked to a manager who said if i hadn't purchased the incidental insurance "complete titanium plus", then it would have to be reported to my insurance. the next day i went into the dealership with my brother, talked to the salesman who said this isn't covered under the 3 yr/36,000 mile warranty (which it isn't). however, in ford's owner manual there is a 12,000 mile 12 month warranty against manufacture defects. sales person brought out the used car sales manager who tried to tell us this was not my fault, not his fault and this is why a person carries insurance. we told him this is unacceptable on a brand new car which i had less than a week with only 295 miles on it. we told him this is a manufacturers defect and he needs to work with ford to fix it. he tried to play it off as he thought i bought a used car (appeared to be a gimmick) and told sales person to be more clear on new vs. used (again, appeared to be a gimmick). his tune changed and the service department looked at the crack and snapped photos of windshield to submit to ford. turns out, ford is going to fix the windshield with no cost to me. the dealer is also giving me a loaner car while the work is being done.

on several occasions while driving and moving my foot from the gas pedal to the brake pedal, my shoe has gotten hung up on the open space by the gas pedal. there is a open gap between the side panel near the gas pedal on the right. unlike other cars i looked at it is not one continuous piece of molding. when moving my foot from the gas pedal to the brake my shoe got caught in the open area. in 2 instances it caught and pulled off my sandal delaying my ability to get to the brake pedal. in other instances it caught my shoe and delayed my braking time.

SEATS

the car salesman was demonstrating how the rear seat backs fold down. he was on one side of the car, i on the other. we both returned the seat backs to their upright positions. he returned his seat back slightly beyond vertical. my wife sat in the seat, leaned forward, and pulled the lever to move the seat back to its vertical position. the seat back sprung forward. it forcefully hit my wife's back and neck, causing her to nearly lose her breath. it hurt her. the salesman then said she should have been leaning against the back when she pulled the lever to keep it from springing forward. the problem is not with the salesman and his instructions, it is with the force of the seat back springing forward.
