my 2012 chevrolet cruze eco with the 6-speed manual transmission has occasionally refused to go into 4th gear, and grinds occasionally when going into 2nd gear. i get the grind at about 1200 rpm and up. most of my shifting is done at or below 2500 rpm for fuel economy reasons. the clutch pedal can be pushed to the floor, the engine rev-matched, and it will still balk/grind in those gears.this is my second manual transmission car after putting 70,000 miles on my first one, so i know how to drive a manual transmission without grinding the gears. the car presently has 4700 miles on it, and the problem started at approximately 1000 miles. i'm worried that i might need to do a quick shift to accelerate quickly in an emergency situation and be unable to do so thanks to the balkiness of the transmission.

i just bought a 2012 chevy cruze. at take off and turning around curves at low speed the steering and the wheels shake. i took it to the dealership. and couldn't find anything wrong with it but it continues to do it. very upsetting that it is brand new and already having problems. i really like my car but wish it was fixed.

back in january 2012, i bought a chevy cruze 2012 with automatic transmission. after two month using this vehicle, i found out it has a problem while driving up/down hill. driving uphill, once i put the transmission into drive and release the brake pedal this car rolls back and the engine cut off. driving downhill, once i put the transmission into rear and release the brake pedal this car goes down and the engine cut off. i went to a chevrolet dealer, they tested my car and another 2012 cruze from their inventory and both cars did the same as i describe above. however, they told me the car is performing as designed and no problems found at this time. then, i contacted gm, gm contacted its dealer, and three days later gm called me back telling me the same ¿�no problems found¿�. so, i requested a letter where gm tells me that anything was wrong and they will cover any future issues with the automatic transmission but gm told me that they cannot provide me any document. as a customer, i would like to request an investigation because in my opinion those issues are design defects. thank you in advance for your help.

when entering a curve vehicle shakes after about a hour of driving dealer could not duplicate so i took it to a friend of mine who is a race car mechanic for 30 years and he showed me the issue the tires they put on the chevy cruze the 215-60-16 firestone fr710 is a s speed rated tire this should be a t or a h speed rated the cruze will exceed the 112mph the tires are rated for and this could cause them to bust i actually had one pop off the rim and deflate this low grade of tire is not made for curvy roads which is what is causing the bumping people are experiencing during cornering.

i was involved in a collision on may 5, 2012 in which i collided into the side of another vehicle with the front end of my car. my car is brand new, less than a month old however, the seat belts did not hold and the air bags did not deploy during the crash. i was traveling at approximately 30-35 mph at the time of the crash. the collision was bad enough that my car was no longer drivable after the collision. i just bought this car which is a 2012 chevrolet cruze and am now afraid to keep it not knowing why the safety equipment didn't work. also, i had activated my "on star" service but that didn't work either. i would like for someone to inspect my car before the repairs are started. please let me know where to go from here.

this vehicle was purchased december 2010 and since the purchase all the issues that 2012 chevy cruze has been subjected to regarding recalls we have suffered them. this complaint is filed due to the fact that, although the car is under warranty, gm and the dealership refuses to honor the warranty, for the repair of the fly wheel bolts. these bolts are internal and are currently loose and while driving the vehicle, the vehicle does not accelerate and then suddenly stops.

i was driving home and out of nowhere my 2012 chevy cruze dings and says "engine overheating a/c turned off," i was very surprised but kept driving and literally one minute later the car dings again. there is a different message that says "idle engine overheating," at this point i am very worried and i pull over and call the chevy dealership that i bought the car from and explain what has occurred. i was advised to bring the car into the service department. so, i start the car up and begin the drive over to the dealership that is about 15 minutes away because of traffic. not three minutes into the drive i get the same message "idle engine overheating," i'm very nervous but keep going and about two minutes later i get a new message "shut engine off engine overheating." i call the dealership and they tell me that i am close enough that i should just continue and drive to the dealership. i get about 200 yards from the entrance of the dealership and my engine starts smoking. i have had this car for less than seven months and i basically only use it to drive to work and school. i take very good care of my vehicles, i get the oil changed every 4,000-5,000 miles, in fact i got an oil change less than a week ago.

i took my vehicle in complaining of a strange noise, almost like a "pop" when braking. when the dealership looked at it they told me it was the struts. they stated they were waiting on a recall from chevrolet and that i should just continue to keep calling and checking on it. i called them each month since. each time they assured me it would not affect my vehicle at all and that it would be fine. obviously, a strut is a part of the car, it must be needed to function or it would not be on there. i have no idea how this is affecting my vehicle including my tire wear, brakes, and overall structure of the vehicle. there has still been no recall issued and the problem still exists.

the recall fix for the chevrolet cruze was performed on my car. the fix was to cut the engine, or under the engine area, skid plate exposing this area. i believe this to be a safety issue that could result in further damage to the car, engine, exhaust, oil pan and other components that are now exposed. the is a safety concern because during the act of driving this vehicle, it may be exposed to road conditions, foreign objects, or other miscellaneous environmental factors that will affect the performance and overall safe handling of this vehicle. *js

cold start and back up or going forward, brake locks and car just rolls. took it to the dealer (huffines chevrolet in plano texas) and dealer said they would have it ready in two days. after a week without the car, the service advisor explain the part was not available anywhere and the factory would not push out more of the brake vacuum parts until october. in the meantime, my car with 19k is sitting under the hot texas sun at the dealer (most likely ruining its leather interior) and the dealer has no other information and they "wish they could do more." i would not recommend anyone to buy a chevy cruze until this problem is clear. the dealer also said they have not heard about this ever before and looking in this website there are four more cases. not truthful! gmc needs to resolve or recall!

2012 chevrolet cruze. consumer writes in regards safety recall *tgw the consumer stated his wife saw a news report, where 30 vehicles had problems with oil in the bellypan. there was sufficient danger to initiate a recall. when the consumer went to have the oil change at the dealer, he brought up the recall. however, the dealer claimed to know nothing about it . the dealer then checked online and received a diagram as to how to fix the problem. the oil changed revealed and excessive amount of oil in the bellypan. the consumer also stated it was difficult to change a flat tire, due to the poorly designed jack.

purchased 4/25/2012. after driving a little, noticed lack of power, easily stalls, something rolling around in the trunk lid, console piece gaped out, passenger side tail lamp inside trunk bent, engine shutters (after 500 miles it started) when turned on and off. the lack of power and engine stalling are the major safety concerns. when in a stopped position, the car will stall when the clutch is operated correctly. while making a right hand turn from a stop sign, onto route 30, at a blind intersection, the car would not move, once i let the clutch out and was in 1st gear, the car just did not move, i had the gas pushed to the floor and i was only moving inches forward. i was scared, i had my child in the car with me, a tractor trailer could have come up on me 50+ mph hit me or swerved to miss me and hit someone else. the car finally moved after about 45 sec. i then got up to speed in 6th gear. the car then again lost power, i had to down shift from 6th gear to 4th gear to get speed built back up. i got home, about 2 miles, was upset and scared, called apple chevrolet, the car sat until i drove it to the dealership 35 mins from my home the next morning. i told them that it does not happen every day so the chances of it happening again are slim. this would be the 3rd visit to the service dept for the lack of power complaint. i drove with the tech anyway knowing that it was not going to be duplicated. i told the service rep that i wanted a turbo boost gauge put on it because it does not seem to be boosting all the time. when i was called that my car was done and nothing was duplicated, i was told that it was boosting in range. when i picked my car up the next day, there was nothing on my bill that stated that the turbo was even checked. i was told that they cannot put every piece of equipment that they use on each car on every bill. etc...

2012 chevrolet cruze lt1 rs package, automatic transmission on june 27 i was in murray, ky driving home from murray state university. i was in heavy traffic. after the light changed i gave the accelerator a light tap to move the car forward. it started slowly but after a few seconds, it seems that the car stalled. the transmission downshifted and when i gave the accelerator a tap, nothing. at this time, i was certain i would be in an accident. again, i gave the accelerator a tap (mind you, i didn't mash the petal to the floor board, i gave it enough of a tap to switch the gear). the car did nothing, and again my concern was that i would be rear ended soon. another tip (again, i did not mash the pedal to the floor), and finally the turbo charger kicked in and the car switched gears. but when the car shifted gears, it was an explosion of force that jerked and lurched the car forward including my self. i was glad to get moving since traffic was heavy. since this incident, it has happened 5 times that the car has been sluggish to respond, and it have continued to shift gears with random jerks and often explosive force that jerks both car and passenger. i have had this to 2 dealerships, and they say they cannot reproduce it, and they both tell me that this is a normal thing, and that this transmission will make erratic gear changes. i am concerned for my safety with i drive this car, and hope i am not stranded in traffic when the transmission fails to shift properly.

2012 chevrolet cruze. consumer writes in regards to engine shield modification *tgw the consumer stated after the recall was performed, all the lights on the dashboard illuminated , power was reduced and the word engine power reduced appeared illuminated as well. the consumer took the vehicle back to the dealer. after checking all the wiring near the locations of the cuts of the shield, the dealer tested other possibilities and informed the consumer, that cause was a bad potentiometer on the gas throttle.

chevrolet's recall fix on the 2011-2012 chevy cruze involve cutting off large portions of the underneath heat shield, this piece is also a debris shield. but now with the heat shield completely gone, there now is no protection from debris entering under the hood and causing more damage, also with this fix gm is compromising the biggest selling point of this car which is the gas mileage, this shield is also used to reduce drag underneath the car and in turn increasing gas mileage, but now drag will increase underhood which will decrease fuel mileage. in very wet climates this shield helped prevent water from spraying up under the hood as well, and by removing this shield our cars are now more prone rust, corrosion and abnormal wear to vital parts. gm has done a horrible job at fixing this problem, no logic or obvious care were taken into consideration when addressing this issue. if this kind of similar problem happened on a cadillac or a corvette would have they fixed the problem the same way?? probably not, so what makes my chevy cruze any less important?

steering: around one week prior to the incident, i had my 2012 chevy cruze under panel modified due to a potential engine fire. the following week, while driving home from work, i experienced a "wandering" in my vehicle. i noticed it again driving home the next day. now, whenever this is wind, i experience my vehicle "wandering." when this occurs, my car drifts left and right much more and the front end feels lighter and far too responsive. fuel: after the modification to my under panel, i have noticed a drop in my fuel mileage. i have seen around 2 mpg or more of reduced fuel economy.

i was backing out of my driveway into a street and had no brakes. i pushed the pedal to the floor and nothing, car kept rolling. another incident i was waiting in a drive through and my brake pedal went all the way to the floor while the car was not moving. i feel that this is a serious safety issue.

car responds erratically and unpredictably to push on accelerator pedal. on above date in attempting to back up slowly accelerator pedal was pushed with delayed response, then followed by extreme motion backward hitting fence, damaging fender. at other times car fails to accelerate out of way of on-coming traffic causing near collisions with little or no response to pedal movement. this has happened several times with this six month old car. my friend has same model with same problem. as per chevy service manager who was twice contacted on this: a) he took a new cruze home to drive for several days to investigate this complaint from other customers and he had the same problem, b) same problems are being reported to other chevy dealers in hot climate areas of country. chevy service manager says problem is know to general motors, but no fix is available - all tests on several other new cruze models brought in for service with same problem show that all systems and electronics are working normally. he's not sure what general motors will do about it. this is apparently a make/model specific problem that is not being addressed as no pro-active warning info has been received by us from general motors or the chevy dealer. this is dangerous and no one is taking any responsibility. please investigate before someone is seriously injured or killed. the lack of official warning from general motors is morally outrageous!!

after having the underbelly shield modified on my sister's 2012 chevrolet cruze eco per the recall (nhtsa campaign number 12v288000) i noticed an increase in buffeting and highway speed wandering in the handling of her car.this is most noticeable at speeds of approx 75 mph and higher. the car felt less stable than it did prior to the recall service being performed on the vehicle. because of this, i purchased a replacement underbody shield from a dealer and re-installed it. the result of this re-installation was noise back to normal, handling back to normal.

i purchased a 2012 chevy cruze 2lt w/rs package on 9/19/12. i didn't notice right away but after i drove for a few days i notice the engine would have this loud vibration when i barely accelerate, like staying at a steady speed. if i accelerate from a stopped position it doesn't do it or i just don't hear it because i hear the turbo. after driving it a few weeks the vibration sound has gotten worse, so i took it to the dealership to be checked. they test drove it and told me this is the way the echotech w/turbo motors sound and nothing was wrong with it. i wasn't satisfied so i asked i could test drive another car just like mine on their lot. they graciously let me and it sounded the same. my sons girlfriend has the exact same car and hers sounds nothing like mine. she bought hers at a different dealership which means it was probably came from a different manufacturer. something isn't right and this should be fixed. this does not sound like a new car. it's very embarrassing. my 1995 chevy cavalier is not as loud as my new car. another thing is when i slow down to pull in my driveway (on a hill) i just let off the gas and the car will jerk really hard. this doesn't happen all the time but this will be an issue i'm sure when the warranty is up. i'm very disappointed with my first new car purchase. i waited 42 years for this.

my new 2012 chevy cruze eco was purchased on 05/15/2012 and has approximately 8000 miles and the manual transmission clutch is already inoperative. the billy navarre chevrolet dealership will not repair the vehicle under warranty stating that a gm field service rep has inspected the car and has determined that the clutch failure was due to operator abuse/misuse. in addition, the dealership states that the clutch is not covered under the factory warranty and subject to fair wear and tear although i purchased the gm extended warranty as well. is it normal for a clutch to fail at 8000 miles? certainly not! the car has never been abused and has been operated within normal operating limits but resulting in the clutch disc being fused to the flywheel - as reported by the service department to me. the speculation is that the operator, my daughter, 'rides' the clutch and has caused the clutch to wear out prematurely and fusing the clutch to the flywheel. my daughter has never 'ridden' the clutch nor abused the vehicle as speculated but has driven the car in a safe and proper manner using normal operating procedures iaw the operator's manual. a burning smell was reported by my daughter to me and within a few days (10/06/12) the car would not go into gear and after several attempts would not shift at all. my daughter is the only operator of the vehicle. the car was towed to the dealership and within a week the service department reported to me that the transmission needed to be replaced but would not be covered under warranty. my only request has been and remains that the car be repaired or replaced under warranty at no cost to me as the problem is a defect induced problem and not due to operator abuse or misuse.

i took my 2012 chevy cruze eco in for oil change tire rotation, and oil spill recall, the recall requires cutting away part of the shield underneath the motor. i noticed immediately the car has steering issues that were not there before the recall work was done. the best i can describe it is drifting, it will start to pull in one direction and when i correct it its like it jerks to the other direction. it's not a violent jerk but very noticeable. almost feels like it sticks in a certain spot. that's really the best i can explain it but it was noticeable right away. i've managed to get roughly 10,000 miles per oil change, avg. mpg 37,and commute 60 miles one way, mostly freeway for work. cars been great otherwise, i think with the cutting away of part of the shield it messed with the arrow dynamics somehow. i had a chevy dealership mechanic drive it with me in the car and he definitely could feel it also. with my own research i was able to find that other people are experiencing the same thing. i think this is something that's gonna have to take enough complaints from people in order to get chevy to look at it and make some type of recall shield or some other fix. if anyone is experiencing this please make some form of complaint to hopefully make something happen.

the vehicles lights started flashing (radio, warning lights on dash) and then the turn signal would not work. dealer found no problems. similar problems happened over next month and then car would not start/respond to remote. brought car to dealer while lights blinking and service department saw problem. car would not start while at the lot and service department pushed it into garage. checked vehicle for week and found no problem and then it happened again. kept car again. after car returned, car would not respond when shut off and attempted to get out of car (locked in). the car was in park and turned off and the occupant could not get out of the car. restarted car and then locks worked. dealer found no problems. since then had an incident when car was parked and turned off and it took two tries for occupant to get out of car. concerned about safety if occupant is locked inside car.

up to this point high praise for the cruze in general but i recently noticed my 2012 chevy cruze eco has begun to have steering issues. this began at around 16000 miles and began sometime after the oil pan recall work was done at the dealer . (but approximately 6000 miles after that so i can't definitely attribute it to that). tire rotation was recently performed at the dealer as well. the car has a slight pull in one direction and when the steering is corrected there is a perceptible "jerk" to the other direction. similar to a steering wheel position sensor symptom i had on an older vehicle. feels like the power steering "skips" or has a dead spot. l looked this up before taking it to the dealer and saw many others had a similar issue so i thought i'd file a comment.

the car suddenly developed a steering problem. while driving straight it will start to wander, when i go to make a small correction to remain going straight the steering is not immediately responsive. the steering wheel skips before it starts to make the correction which then make the car slightly jerk to one direction or the other. it is like the steering does not respond at first, this is only while i am driving straight. it seems more noticeable between 40-60 mph. i took it to the dealer who said they could not find any thing and it is normal. this is not normal it never did it until a month ago.

this car would suddenly and without warning surge/lunge forward creating a safety hazard to all including other drivers. i have had it back to the dealer twice and they have confirmed and duplicated my observations and concerns however,at first they thought it was electronic and then decided to rebuild the transmission after they found metal fragments within this sealed component. this is a brand new car so why would they not replace the car,give back my money or at the very least replace the transmission rather than repair it? the car has now been in the shop for 18 of the 40 something days that i have owned it and its still there today. i am not convinced that the transmission is the real problem and i'm skeptical that gm truly knows what the issue is. i would be interested to know if other cruze owners are also experiencing this safety issue? i am also disappointed that gm doesn't simply return the few dollars i have invested and let this car fly off into the sunset. i have been a consistant gm buyer for many many years and this particular situation has left a bad taste in my mouth to say the least.

steering has intermittent issue. while driving at interstate speeds it feels as though the wheel gets caught in a notch. besides that when this is occurring the electric steering gets twitchy, and pulls 1/8-1/4in to the right every 10seconds or so. the problem went away, but have read others online with similar issues. took my car to dealer & they could find nothing wrong. has not occurred since. at 12,000miles months before this i started my car & had the service power steering message on the drivers information center on dash. took in at that point & was told there was no stored codes & no issues found. i am reporting this as it could cause someone to get in an accident at interstate speeds. passing a semi the car kept twitching/pulling the 1/8-1/4in toward the semis lane every 10seconds. please make gm fix this obvious safety defect.

in may of 2013, our 2012 chevy cruze air conditioner stopped flowing cold air and would blow only hot air. after being diagnosed by dealer gm mechanic it was found that the condenser had been hit by foreign material (rock) creating a hole in the condenser and letting all of the freon out. it cost about $600-700 to fix. on my own i found that there were numerous other reports of condensers being damaged by rocks, and that through a gm technical service bulletin (tsb pi0461b) issued in the summer of 2012 the proper repair for this was replacing the condenser and installing a condenser protective screen. since the tsb includes adding a protective screen as a design modification it is apparent that gm/chevy acknowledges that there is a design defect in the cruze, and that the placement of the condenser makes it susceptible to damage from rocks. this was the point that i attempted to argue with gm with no avail, that since this defect was identified prior to my purchase of the car, they should be responsible. although, i was unsuccessful in getting gm to take responsibility for their product, i hope to help anyone that is thinking about buying a cruze or has a cruze still under warranty. for those of you with cruzes still under factory warranty and have a damaged condenser make sure they install the condenser screen. for prospective buyers i would advise you to insist that your cruze have the condenser screen installed prior to purchase.

i don't believe the current resolution to gm's recall on the chevy cruze concerning the engine splash pan is adequate as it only addresses safety and not customer satisfaction. as this part directly affects the fuel mileage as advertised as well as the degradation of underwood parts due to water encroachment, i don't believe butchering the existing pan is fair to the consumer. at the least, the redesigned pan on the 2013 and any or all updates made to the 2013 model regarding this safety issue are what should have been completed. i am not satisfied with the current solution in that i no longer have what i paid for due to said recall and its poor solution.

while driving my new chevy cruze i have noticed that once in a while i will go to accelerate and the car will not go. i'll get to about 20mph and it's like the car doesn't know i'm pushing the pedal to accelerate. i can tell that is getting gas and that it's not the transmission because it doesn't make a sound. it just stops at about 20mph and doesn't go any further until i put the pedal down further, doesn't go, then a little more then it suddenly accelerates and jerks because i have the pedal down so far. i've seen other complaints on the website and i believe it is due to a faulty tsp sensor. my dealer cannot find the issue because they can not make it reoccur and the check engine light does not go on. the last incident that happened while i was merging on to i-55 south and as i was merging my car would not accelerate with a line of cars behind me and a line of cars on my left. very scary. when i asked my dealer what happens when i get into an accident because of this i was just told i hope that doesn't happen and when it happens again to bring it back.

i purchase this car a little over 3 wks ago. drove ok at dealership. problem: i put car in reverse and still had foot on brakes felt car move. did this a couple more times while trying to back out of driveway.. was in parking lot backing out put foot on brake and still felt movement. took car into shop they said brakes needed to be adjusted. they said they fixed and told me i was all set. still having the same problem. and it has done it once while in drive. car kind rolls and brake pedal is goes to floor but doesn't grip. i purchased the car used and it was suppose to have been inspected. the problem started on the 3rd day i had it. so once again i am going back to the shop to see what can be done. it's a very bad feeling when you have your foot on brake and car still moves-- but it stops fine actually driving. this basically happens when moving from park.

i just started backing out of a parking spot at the grocery store, and when i went to hit the brakes, the brake pedal hardly moved and the car kept rolling. i applied extreme pressure to the brake pedal because i almost hit another parked car. it eventually came to a stop just inches from the other car. then when i left the parking lot i proceeded to the traffic light, which was red at the time, i applied the brake, and it did the same thing! i almost rear-ended the car in front of me! i finally got the car home, but i kept great distances between our car and the cars in front of me. luckily it didn't happen again, and i made it home safe! later in the day, i tested the brakes again, by backing out of the garage, and it happened again! makes me very nervous! this car is going to the gm dealer to get fixed! hopefully i don't have an accident on my way there! gm needs to do a recall to fix this problem before someone gets hurt or killed!!!

total brake failure on five different occasions. when driving the vehicle after being parked a momentary total brake failure occurs sometimes. i backed out of a parking space on an incline , braked and the pedal was firm, no brakes at all, pumped the brake , pedal slowly goes to the floor, another pump and braking is ok.this happened to my wife on four other occasions in a parking lot after starting the vehicle. it happen and corrects itself very quickly, at least for now. dealer has bee no help.i checked the internet and i am not alone , numerous complaints of the same condition.

last night my wife and i (who is 9 months pregnant) got into our 2012 chevy cruze and went to back out of the parking lot. when backing out the car started shaking really weird as i released my foot off the brake pedal. i released full and continued to backup as i didn't know what was going on. when i went to apply the brakes again i pushed the brake pedal down all the way and the car barely stopped. luckily i was able to pull the emergency brake in time before hitting the multiple cars behind my vehicle.i put the car in drive and pulled forward into the parking spot and as i went to stop again it was the same issue. the car would not fully stop no matter how hard i pushed down on the brake pedal. luckily, i was the one driving and we weren't up to highway speeds yet or it could've resulted in the death of multiple people.

after car ran, then parked and turned off, then started up again the power brakes failed for approximately 60 seconds. in my opinion the car was warm/hot, the weather was warm/hot, and the temperature affected the power brake system when started in the heat. having the a/c on may have robbed some power as well. problem is now more frequent during warm weather, to the point i am concerned about my safety and the safety of any other driver who may not be aware of the issue.

while driving on ortega highway which is a two lane highway and is a connector road from inland empire to orange county with narrow lanes running thru cleveland national forest, i was driving with the flow of traffic and the car suddenly shut off, steering wheel locked, various computer panel lights started flashing and the car became uncontrollable to the point where it almost went over cliff. this was the most horrific experience and lucky to be alive. i have contacted gm directly and will contact the media in the event i receive no resolution. the car is a safety hazard at this point and not drivable. sadly i just purchased the car in march of this year. i refuse to be stuck with this car that i completely lost trust to drive with myself let alone with my children.

driving back home car started to jerk and all lights on dash began to flicker. pulled over and within a minute car started to smoke from under the hood then behind dash. state trooper pulled behind me and assisted see what was the trouble. lifted up the hood and saw engine was on fire at the rear of engine. trooper began to help remove personal items but car was in flames very quickly from around rear of engine. contacted the chevy dealer in virginia beach from which the cruze was purchase. never got a return call. contacted their finance manager once a week. no reply. contacted main manager left message. again no reply. the only call i got from chevy was their gm financial where the loan is.. they wanted the payoff quick and very little assistance in helping to get info on what to do next.. would have left it alone but son is in navy and needs a car. the only help we got was from the troopers that refer us to this site. also saw that the cruse is having problems with engine fires and dash fires. want something done before someone gets hurt from this. my son recognized a problem and pulled over. someone else might not be so lucky.

i bought a 2012 chevy cruze eco that has 4 goodyear assurance fuel max tires on july 12, 2013. i was driving back home from my parents house approximatley 30 miles away. i got about 4 miles out of town and my low tire pressure light came on. i checked the tire pressure screen on the dash and i was slowly losing tire pressure. i made it back home with 6 psi of air in my tire. (it is supposed to have 35 psi.) i got home and looked at the tire and it has about a 3/4" crack on the outside wall of the tire. i put air back in it and it deflated again pretty quick.

the trunk release switch that is located on the trunk of the vehicle does not work. the only way to open the trunk is by using the keyless entry remote. though this does not pose a direct threat to safety it is extremely inconvenient due to the need for the key just to open an unlocked vehicles trunk. i purchased the vehicle only being one year old with 50,000 miles (so the warranty is out) and the dealership says that they can't do anything unless i pay full price.

front brakes vibrate and over heat when applied at over 35mph. also when brakes are applied suddenly vibration it felt. dealer could not duplicate problem the first time but after two more visit front brake pads were replace. then again after several complaints and still the same problem same dealer replaced brake pads and rotors. still to this date brakes feel the same and dealer or gm will not acknowledge that vehicle has a problem. im concern for me and my families safety and im between a rock and a sword cause is the vehicle i use as a daily driver.

this started this week, the electrical parts (radio, speakers, turning signal clicker, ac etc) will constantly flicker off then come back on after about ten seconds, every time i have the car running. the stability warning will sometimes go on but will eventually go out. the specific incident occurred the the 27th of august when i went to take a left turn, on to a highway. when i went to make a turn my power steering locked up and almost caused me to hit a passing car and get rear ended. it specifically locked up at about ten miles an hour while picking up speed. after i returned to my parking lot it locked up again and caused me to hit a barrier, slightly damaging the front bumper. since then my power steering will sometimes lock up making it extremely difficult to turn. *tt

on or about june 13, 2013, i was parking my car in my space at the apartment complex i live in. i pushed on the brakes and the car went up and over the grass and into the support structure that holds up the awning at our clubhouse. the mileage listed is approximate, as i currently don't have the paperwork from howe collision at hand. i have a $500.00 deductible with my insurer, aaa michigan. there was no police report taken. the damage to my vehicle was repaired by howe collision in plymouth. i picked up my car on june 24, 2013. the car has a 1.8l ecotec with dohc 4-cylinder engine. it also has a 6-speed automatic transmission. it has stabilitrak-stability control, with traction control. the brakes are 4-wheel anti-lock, front disks, rear drums. my vehicle was manufactured in lordstown, ohio. i read an article in the jackson citizen regarding a defect in the brake assist function that had been linked to 27 accidents. gm announced the friday before that it was aware of the 27 crashes, but stated there were no injuries. the cars involved are 2011-2012 1.4l engines that were built in lordstown. gm said for owners to take their car to the dealer where it was purchased, (mine is a lease), for repair of the broken part. my dealer, [xxx] in plymouth said they didn't know anything about it. my niece, whose email i am using, called and spoke to the service department. the service department said they had no official notice from gm and that not all 2011 and 2012 cruze's were involved in the recall. he also told her that i would get a notification in the mail, which to date, i have not gotten. if you need any other information you can call me at the number listed or email my niece, [xxx], at the email listed below. thank you for your time. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

sudden loss of power steering with "power steering service" error on display. when this happened, the steering wheel became very hard to steer (almost locked up) and i certainly could not make a right or left turn. this semi-locking up of the power steering remained as long as the vehicle was still moving. indeed, the only way to restore power steering was to stop the car and let the engine cooled for 20 minutes or more. this happened the first time to my car in june or july time frame. chevrolet reprogrammed the steering module. but the power steering lockup while driving at highway speed (~50mph) happened again in august. chevrolet replaced the rack and pinion steering. and the locking up of the power steering while driving at high speed (~50mph) still happened again on 09/10/2013. this time, chevrolet changed the "d power steering module power & ground hardness". so, chevrolet has attempted to fix the problem unsuccessfully twice before this third warranty repair. i hope this fix it. but i feel i need to report this to the nhtsa since i almost got into an accident (sudden and sustaining loss of control of the vehicle steering) every time this incident happened.

while pulling into parking space crawling into position the brakes failed and the car vibrated and lunged forward crashing into a brick wall. the brake pedal went all the way to the floor the car then began to vibrate then accelerate forward hitting brick wall. i believe that the turbo charge engaged because of the vacuum boost failed causing the turbo to engage. filed complaint with gm no luck said it was driver error. needless to say we are repairing the car then trading in. i have contacted local media can't seem to get any help. we have been loyal chevy owners for over 20years never again. i think the public needs to be warned before someone gets killed. if someone was walking across the front of the car they would have died.

started vehicle drove 2 miles engine rpm started increasing without pressing excellerator i looked down at temperature gage and it was maxed all the way to hot. stopped the turned engine off raised the hood couldn't see any reason for car to be hot in such a short distance of driving. after about 45 minutes started car up check engine light came on will not go off. the car information center said oil life zero. the oil was changed 3000 mile ago. a week before i checked the info center on oil life and it said 60% luckly i live in a rural area not in a city with traffic. when the engine reved up it sped up and my foot was off the gas.

windshield scratches super easy making it difficult to see properly in sunny conditions. i have perfect vision and have a very hard time seeing past the scratches the microfiber cloth left on the inside from cleaning and my plastic winter ice scraper made on the outside in the winter. never had a car in my 20+ years of driving with such a crappy windshield.

to begin with,i have had several problems with my 2012 chevy cruze and have been given the runaround. my first concern is that i bought my 2012 chevy cruze on 09/18/2012 and was notified days later of a major safety recall about the possibility of engine fires from fluid spills. i find out that this recall was announced on 06/22/12.(nhtsa campaign #:12v288000) why was i sold a vehicle that was under recall for 3 months? and was never even mentioned prior or post sale. onstar had to notify me and then i had to get it fixed. my second concern is that there is an coolant smell in the cab of the vehicle and although not always noticeable, it is more noticeable in colder weather. took vehicle to dealer and they played stupid and said they don't smell anything and that the smell could be a "dirty cabin air-filter"? nobody wants to smell coolant when driving!! my third concern is that when taking off from a dead stop or accelerating after letting off the gas for a second the vehicle almost always shifts roughly. took to dealer and was told that its probably just the "turbo kicking in". my fourth concern is about the recall (nhtsa campaign #:12v288000) my vehicle(where the engine shield was) is already rusting and is a very big concern with the future of my vehicle(even after warranty period) rust never goes well with a vehicle! i'm concerned that parts will wear prematurely because of this! not to mention that i am getting less mpg since the shields been removed. now today i get another major safety recall about my brakes.(nhtsa campaign #:13v360000) which would explain why my brakes sometimes require me to press them really hard all the way down to stop it. it currently sits at around 26,000 miles, i am thus far very dissatisfied with the vehicle. i don't know my options but know that if things don't start looking better, i will never buy chevy or recommend chevy again.

upon backing down driveway, it was evident that brake booster pump pressure was lost. it took an extraordinary amount of physical effort to push the brake pedal adequately enough to get vehicle to stop. upon switching from reverse to drive, pedal pressure immediately returned to normal. we have not been notified that our 2012 chevrolet cruze eco is included in recent brake recall.

driver was traveling approx. 15-20 mph when traffic stopped in front of her. driver was at a safe distance behind the vehicle in front of her. however, after applying the brakes the car did not stop and hit the vehicle in front of her. the driver could not figure out why the crash happened as she applied the brakes and the car felt like it wouldn't stop. not only did the vehicle not stop but it also had extensive front end damage without any airbag deployment. both issues are very concerning to the driver. the vehicle has since been repaired but still feels like the brakes are not functioning like they should.

the radio electrical panel would turn on & off intermittently, then the drivers gauge panel would flicker. after the gauge panel flickered, the power steering warning light came on and the power steering shut off. then the traction control warning light came on and the traction control stopped working. then i went to roll up the windows and the whole dash panel flickered, then the windows would not roll up. there appears to be a serious electrical problem in the vehicle somewhere. it acts as though there is a short in the wiring harness somewhere. i am taking it to the chevrolet dealer for diagnostics.

i was driving my vehicle pulling up to a stoplight and as i was stopping my radio turned off and a warning came up on my display saying to service power steering i could feel my power steering go out at this time. this has happened several times as well as warnings saying to service traction control. i took my vehicle to the dealer for repair. before i did this i researched online my issue and found that the most likely problem was the negative battery cable. i told the repair department about my research and that was what was wrong with the vehicle. my concern is that if the power steering had gone out while i was turning this could have caused and accident.

i am having problems with the electrical inside my car cutting in and out, all electrical turns off. service checks come across dashboard for power steering, stability check control, and traction control. the power steering has stopped working at times as well. i am not sure but if you are turning it appears that the turn signals stop working from inside the vehicle. headlights are dimmer than normal when it cuts in and out, it flickers with the shortages. i have taken it to the dealership three times now. the first time they tightened a ground wire, the second time they couldn't find a problem, third time they replaced the engine control module, and now i'm taking it back a fourth time to have the body control module replaced. this problem continues to get worse.

the radio and dash board lights (service stabilitrak) have been flashing on and off then this evening while driving on a straight road, the "service power steering" light flashed on and my steering wheel locked up. that continued for approx. 2 minutes then started working correctly. when i got home and pulled into my parking spot and turned my car off everything turned off, including my interior lights and i couldn't remove my key from the ignition. i let it sit for approx. 5 minutes then tried to start the car and it did turn on so i turned it off again and i was able to remove the key. the dealership i bought the car from two months ago (used, with 38k miles) told me that this is not covered under the power train warranty but would have been covered under the bumper-to-bumper warranty (expired before i bought the car). now, i'm responsible for paying for a serious defect that could potentially result in a serious or fatal incident. chevrolet/general motors -- please fix this without causing consumers any further monetary, physical, or emotional issues. !....updated 07/31/14 *bf

driving in a straight line for ~10-15 seconds at speeds over 40 mph will cause the steering wheel to "stick" in what feels like a notch that requires an over-correction to get the car to respond and change direction again. when this happens, the car's electric steering will kick back in with a little swerve to the left or right that feels slightly dangerous in slick conditions where over-correction could lead to a slide.

at highway speeds, when trying to make a slight steering correction, the steering wheel seems to stick and it takes extra effort move the steering wheel. that extra effort suddenly moves the steering wheel because the power steering seems to return and this causes the car to move as though the driver is jerking the steering wheel. it is very difficult to hold a steady, smooth track at highway speeds. the steering can also exhibit this same type of sticking while sitting stationary but this doesn not cause a dangerous situation. though it does not do this all of the time, it is easy to drive the vehicle long enough to start this erratic steering issue. the dealer has stated that the gm service rep has never heard of such a problem and they have no tsb's or recalls in effect so they can do nothing. this is the same method of ignoring the problem that gm used in dealing with the brake booster micro switch issue. never heard of that problem either, even though many people had complained of the same thing on a chevy forum and numerous wrecks had occurred. "never heard of the problem so we can't fix it" or is it more like "we can't fix it so we have never heard of that problem".

the center information center with the radio began shutting on and off while driving. when the display & radio shuts off, even the blinker wouldn't make a sound. sometimes during this a notification would come up "service traction control" and/or "service stabilitrack." i tried troubleshooting it myself for a few days. sometimes the blinker, seat warmer, or even plugging in my phone to the usb port seemed to trigger it. i noticed the voltage fluctuating from 12.9 - 15.2v while driving or at a stop. the day that i took the vehicle in for repair, all the notification lights began to blink and then the power steering went out during a left turn. the dealership replaced both battery cables and mentioned that they've had many of these cars in with this same issue. the issue appeared to be resolved and the car was running great, until yesterday 1/15/14. everything mentioned above, except for the power steering loss, is happening again. if you search the internet and youtube, you'll quickly see this is a growing problem that needs to be resolved and recalled.

coolant smell inside vehicle cabin and outside of vehicle. noticed when i first purchased the car during the winter. this occurs after extended drives, typically more than 30 minutes, during cold weather when using the heat. problem has progressively gotten worse. gm has looked into it approximately 8 times. 4 repair attempts (coolant reservoir cap replacement, water pump, coolant reservoir modification and hvac assembly replacement). problem has not been resolved. internet search has revealed many owners experiencing the same condition, as well as a class action law suit due to the coolant smell inside the vehicle cabin. this is a health risk to all occupants. further research revealed affected models include the: cruze, malibu and sonic.

engine does not maintain engine temperature and consequently does not have consistent heat. it will go from 170 degrees to 100 in less than 3 blocks. this will cause the windows to frost over and limit visibility. it has become unsafe to drive in the winter. it has been in for repairs about 8 times in two years with no success. i also contacted chevrolet customer care. they told me not to turn the heater fan in past level 2 until the engine reaches operating temperature. the problem is that it rarely does or holds it very long. this winter in mn has ranged all the way to -20. regardless of temperature it does the same thing. my research indicates this has been an issue with the cruze at least since 2011.

noxious coolant smell inside vehicle when heater is on. coolant smell coming from engine compartment when it is warm. the water pump has been changed, next repair was re routing coolant reservoir, next repair was mold found in heater core compartment/cleaned and deoderizer was used, last repair was heater core case replaced. this problem started with a leaking water pump and has not been addressed. seems gm is trying different repairs in hopes it will be fixed. the problem doesn't,t seem to be diagnosed. only happens in cold weather months with the heater on. heated air from the vents smell like burned coolant. very irritating to the eyes and throat, eyes are watery and swollen, very difficult to see and drive. then severe coughing. we can not safely drive longer than 20 minutes. my dealer tells me they never heard of this problem yet is quick search of the internet shows many documented cases. the smell of coolant is in our clothes and the fabric of the interior of the car.

2012 chevrolet cruze. consumer writes in regards to vehicle brake failure. *smd on november 13, 2013, the consumer merged into to stop and go traffic. shortly after merging, another motorist applied his/her brakes. the consumer applied pressure to the brake, but nothing happened. there was no catch, no grinding,and no deceleration as the brake was applied. consequently, the consumer rear ended the vehicle in front of her. the consumer stated the brakes failed to engage. however, no problem was found and according to the black box in the vehicle, the brakes were operational at the time of the accident. the consumer received a recall notice, a month before the accident. however, the parts were not available. *jb

driving on rural road temperature gauge went all the way to hot. stopped car looked under hood there was no liquid in the antifreeze tank went to a house and got water to fill it up. temp gauge went back to normal. check engine stayed on. took car to dealer for inspection they said thermostat housing replaced . every thing fine. on 1/24/2014 the same thing happened this time the cooling fan was racing like i had never heard before pulled in to a mall parking lot raised hood antifreeze tank empty. i looked and saw green liquid where the pipe from antifreeze tank connects to the engine . the vehicle is definitely loosing antifreeze where the coolant goes in to the engine.. this is the second time i almost burned the engine.

driving in hard rain in near rush hour chicago traffic, the driver's side windshield wiper quit working making driver's visibility very poor. inspection revealed that the plastic cup had popped off the metal ball on the linkage. it would not snap back on. the wiper transmission was replaced to repair the car at owners expense, because the car was outside of 3year/36,000mile warranty based on mileage.

vehicle momentarily steered to right without driver input. vehicle was going straight on interstate at approx. 70 mph and pulled to right for approx. one second, then went back to normal. happened approximately seven times on 110 mile drive. we (wife and i) were just fortunate that no one was near us in right lane when these anomalies occurred. took vehicle to dealer and dealer put approx. 100 more miles on vehicle and could not duplicate problem. dealer checked alignment and it was within specifications. have researched online and found vehicles with jtekt eps system having similar steering anomalies. concerned that steering input not controlled by driver can cause vehicle accident at highway speed. this is a potential "catastrophic" safety issue, so please investigate.

upon vehicle being warmed up there is a coolant smell from the heating system. this is a common occurrence with chevrolet cruze and is a health hazard. i cannot keep the heat on without the windows down. this seems to occur only when vehicle is fully warmed up and only seems to come out of the leftmost duct.

we have video of the radio display area going blank then coming on then going blank continually, it takes out all sound i.e., radio, navigational instructions, blinker sound .. while throwing multiple error codes in the area for odometer reading i.e., service stabila track, service traction control. the users manual tells you that if something like this happens to shut off the car to reset the car. if you do shut it off or stall out the car (manual transmission) everything goes dead. it cannot be accessed by onstar (i called them on 2-19-2014 and asked them to document that they could not access the car ... it simply read "error" for them) the fob key has no effect, there is no steering, no brakes, no lights, no nothing for 20 to 45 minutes. so if in traffic .. the car simply becomes either a road block or a target. the car has been into 2 different dealerships and even with video of the incidents they simply say they can find nothing wrong and make ridiculous suggestions. the car as is, is an accident or worse waiting to happen. !....updated 07/31/14 *bf

car drives fine but interior lights go out radio starts blinking and service stabilitrak, service traction control, service antitheft, and service power steering lights come on the dash. i took the car to the dealership where they replaced the bcm. this did nothing 4 days later it all started again. after turning the car off everything resets. on some occasions the antitheft stops the car from starting back up i have to leave the car sit with the key on engine off for about 5 minutes then it will start. there is no loss of power in the engine and all the gauges still work. when i apply the brakes this happens, or when i try to roll down the window, or even when im just cruising down the street without and changing speed or anything in the car.

sickening coolant smell when heater is on hot position. this occurs regularly. it is an awful sickening smell coming from the heating vents. the higher the fan speed the worse it gets. it does not occur if heat control is not on hotter settings which are necessary in winter. although not an immediate safety issue i believe it to be a health concern as the fumes are strong.

i purchased a used chevy cruze, previous rental, from the chevy dealer about a month ago. within the past week i began to have intermittent electrical issues, which started with the radio panel light flashing on and off and the radio would also turn off for several mins at a time. today the electrical problems progressed greatly, impacting the power stealing and i lost power steering completely while driving. in addition, multiple warning signals began to flash: power steering, stabilink, brakes and security traction control. this happened while driving, thankfully i was going at a very low speed otherwise this could have been a potential serious and dangerous situation as i briefly lost control of the car and almost crashed at 10mph (or less.) thankfully i was already on my way to the dealer (1 miles away) for an appointment for servicing that i had previously scheduled due to this issue. once i got to the dealer they were able to see the issues first hand. i turned off the car and then this car completely died. i left the car at the dealer and hope this issue is resolved and the car is safe to drive. honesty, i am very nervous to drive the car in fear that the car is unsafe and these issues will continue.

while driving all the lights are coming on, the dashboard. the brake lights, service stabilitrak light, and the abs light and the radio blinks on and off and then sometimes the radio stays off for several minutes. i had taken the care to the dealership to have them to check it and they advised me it was my thermostat causing the issue. they replaced the thermostat which was under warranty and the dealership said everything was ok to go. a week later the all the lights on the dashboard came back on again i took it back to the dealership and they advised me they didn't see any codes reading that there was and issue. i showed them the pictures and the video that i captured while the car was doing it and they advised me i had a electrical problem but they can't find it. the problem is still an issue and its still doing the same thing.

the day i purchased the vehicle, the radio intermittently discontinued working. the following morning after driving the care for approximately 20 miles and then stopping to visit my father, the car would not start. the car was towed back to the dealer and they noticed a burnt smell and no voltage to bcm, the repair order indicates they replaced ubec and operated system was all ok at that time.

after stopping at a stop sign, i attempted to proceed thru the intersection when the car starting missing and then stopped and would not start. car was towed to progressive chevrolet and they replaced the fuel pump control module. this is what they thought was the problem and it was not. i will open separate complaints for each incident with the car.

stopped at a stop sign and car started missing when attempting to go thru intersection. car stopped and would not start. car was towed to serpentini chevrolet in strongsville. they indicated the car started at their facility but was giving the same code (heck z - u0109) that progressive chevrolet in canton had gotten and progressive replaced the fuel pump control module 3 days prior. serpentini indicated the car was fine. i complained to progressive and they had the car towed from serpentini back to their facility.

car towed from serpentini to progressive since the repair that progressive completed a week prior did not fix the existing problem. car shutting off and not starting. progressive wiring harness to ubec has bad connection due to ubec and wiring harness connection stripped out, necessary to replace complete harness. removed ubec, replaced fuse block, main body harness, required r&r of battery and tray, ebcm, master cylinder and brake booster, dash components removed/loosened to remove brake/gas pedal bracket assembly (harness grommet installed between bracket and firewall), r&r of trunk panels, complete interior including rear seats, lowering headliner. replaced brake booster pushrod clip and rear seat side bolster clip with repair. gm paid for the cost of this repair. additional electrical issues continue with car. will add an additional complaint.

car has ongoing issues with radio flashing, multiple errors appearing on the dash, blinkers having sound one minute and not the next. when these issues occur and you are turning on your bright lights, the radio discontinues playing then starts again. since these issues are intermittent, i recorded the issues and took the car to progressive chevrolet. i showed them the video and the kept the car and tried to recreate the issue. they indicated they were unable to recreate the issue and did not advise me they fixed anything on the car. after filing a complaint with the better business bureau, a gm representative advised me that progressive had replaced the brake vacuum micro switch during this visit. my husband and i were never advised of this repair. after speaking with the gm representative, i checked the receipt and it was listed as being completed at no charge. i feel we weren't advised of this repair because we were attempting to trade the car in and were negotiating with their sales team. i did not purchase a car from them due to the value that they wanted to give me on this car. the car with all of the problems that they cannot fix!! ongoing issues continue and i have been advised by gm to take the car back to a dealership and have them review the car again. i have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow, monday, march 31, 2014. this issue is very distracting and causes a lot of stress on the individuals in the car! the lights flashing at night are blinding and could truly cause a person to get into an accident. you worry what is not going to work when this is taking place. help in determining what is causing these problems and having gm recall these cars and take responsibility is necessary! i am sure it will save lives!

reference to chevy crux 2012 intermittently smell of gasoline, worse when standing, that became more noticeable after shield was cut, but the cut made did not prevent the oil from pooling after oil change, since the metal shield that was left collect the oil, and does not prevent the pooling of oil after oil change.

vehicle started with the radio panel light flashing on and off and the radio would also turn off. today the electrical problems progressed greatly, impacting the power stealing i was turning around the corner and , the steering seems to stick/bind and requires additional effort to make a steering correction. i almost hit the car waiting in the corner for the light. but i was able to control the steering while even though it was very hard to do.

[xxx] vin my car was taken to dealership because it started making a sound like the motor was ticking and had been overfilled with oil about 6 months before by the dealership. the serviceman waited until next day to drive the car. while being test drove by the service man it caught on fire and burned the whole motor and outside of the car up. all plastic was completely burned. my insurance man who went to look at the car said he could not tell if the plastic shield on the bottom had oil on it or not but they could further investigate and would be able to find out. now i had insurance full coverage on the car and i bought gap from the dealership when i purchased the car. i am paying a 6.25 interest rate on the car which came to 22,740.00 plus 3,000.00 down when purchased and been paying for 1 year. paid for extended warranty and gap. i have waited over a month for gm to investigate this and of today's date the dealership says they have not come to do their job. i am 64 years old and never dreamed that a large dealership could or would do someone like they have done me. there was very large recall on 2012 cars and i don't know if mine was ever fixed because i didn't know about the recall until this happened. i just want my money back for the down payment so i can buy another car and for my car to be paid off by the dealership because they are the ones who over filled the car in the first place. the dealership should be responsible for the car it was in there place there service men was driving it when it caught on fire. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

my 2012 chevy cruze suddenly developed vibration in the front end as well as pulling to the right. pulled over to inspect it and found a large bulge in the sidewall on the front passenger side tire. i drove it to discount tire where they said it was not safe to drive and it needed to be replaced. they wont get into any warranty/defect issues they referred me to the chevy dealer for that. i did have them put the old tire in the trunk. when i got home i pulled it out to look at it and on the inside of the tire right where the bulge is the tire is cracked on the inside. ugh! i called continental and they said i need to take the car to chevy and have them inspect them and they will contact continental to see if they are considered defective.

i was sitting at a stoplight to turn left. after the light turned green i applied pressure to the gas pedal and noticed a slight loss of power. as i proceeded through the turn i had difficulty turning as though i had no power steering. once through the turn i still has no power steering and noted a message on the dash reading "service steering". i controlled the car to the next stoplight which was approximately 1/2 mile during which time i still had no power steering. at the stop light i turned the car off, and started it again. after restarting the car i had no more problems with the steering. prior to this instance and multiple times following i have had issues with the electrical system failing. it usually begins with the radio board "blinking" off. by blinking i mean that the radio completely shuts off and the radio dash lights blink off and on until it finally returns to full power. but usually its not a one time thing. there are times where this occurs every 5 seconds until i'm able to pull the car over and turn it off. while this occurs i will get a message on my dash cluster saying to "service stabilitrac" along with several other cluster lights that blink. i have taken this car to the dealership where it was purchased and they have not been able to reproduce what i've experienced, and such they have not been able to fix anything. this first began while the car was under bumper to bumper warranty, but that has since passed and if they were able to actually fix anything i would be stuck with the bill.

as i drive down the road my stability trak light comes on and my radio turns on and off. now my power steering goes out and my car won't always start. i've taken it in 3 times to have these issues fixed and nobody can seem to figure out what is wrong. i've been left stranded with my 3 year old son because my car wont start. i've only had this car 2 months and it is by far the worst car i have ever had.

our 2012 chevy cruze started with the radio turning "off" and "on" on its own the month after we bought the car. a month later it happened again as well as left my wife stranded at a store. car didn't want to turn on. i figured it may have been a bad battery. before i could even "jump" the vehicle, the car got all power back on with no problem. the 3rd time radio turned off and on on its own and then shut down completely with no power to vehicle at the same store near my wife's work. i noticed nothing electrical worked in the car, like hazard lights, brake lights, and anything that should have 12 volt constant power. i now carry a multimeter in the car. on a 400 mile drive on the highway i experience the radio issue as well as "stabilitrac", and many other malfunction lights displaying on and off on my dash while driving 75 mph. i even recorded this while driving. my family and i were on vacation and while driving i lost power steering then the car shut down and left us stranded with no power again. wait about 10 to 15 minutes, the car will return back to normal like nothing happened. took it straight to the dealer right at that moment and they couldn't duplicate the problems. returned home from vacation and it all happened again in traffic while driving. my wife and kids were in the car. i called for a tow truck and towed it to the chevy dealership in town. i left it with them for 4 days and they still couldn't find anything wrong with the car. this car still continues to turn off to this day and ive only had the car for 6 month now. i won't let my family in this car. i have also experienced the door locks, lock and unlock on its own and the wipers activated on there own. not sure whether it could be a bad ecu, bcm, electrical harness, fuse boxes. the ecu was reprogrammed at the 2000 miles for an unknown reason. wish i had bought a different car instead of this lemon

as i was backing out of parking spot the brake pedal went to the floor increasing the time and distance to come to a complete stop.vehicle was towed to dealership where they determined it was a faulty brake microswitch (gm part # 13460776)that was already replaced under gm recall #12213 on march 20,2014.the dealership replaced the switch again and claim the brakes were now "working as designed".

december 2013 -- the radio and dash board lights (service stabilitrak) have been flashing on and off then this evening while driving on a straight road, the "service power steering" light flashed on and my steering wheel locked up. that continued for approx. 2 minutes then started working correctly. when i got home and pulled into my parking spot and turned my car off everything turned off, including my interior lights and i couldn't remove my key from the ignition. i let it sit for approx. 5 minutes then tried to start the car and it did turn on so i turned it off again and i was able to remove the key. february 2014 -- the same things are happening and the power steering turns off and the steering wheel locks up may 2014 -- power steering turns off and steering wheel locks up; battery completely dies randomly; new dealership tells me the battery cables need to be replaced; however, other cruze owners who have filed a complaint with the same issues and had their battery cable replaced report that this does not resolve the issue.

my teenage daughter drives this car. along with a number of service issues and down time in the shop, it has been nothing short of a disappointment. she now has a braking issue that is consistent with the recall that was issued in october of 2013 (12213). she was driving the car at 15-20 mph and the brakes failed when depressed. she then had to push again, this time harder and barely missed a car in front of her, thus freaking her out completely. now she will not drive this car again as she does not feel safe. we took the car into the dealer and without any secondary notice saying that the parts are available, they had them in house... really? does this take a fatality for g.m to do the right thing and be on top of their business?

purchased the car on 28 april 2014 from knox ford in radcliff, ky. noticed a faint burning smell. was advised that i rode the clutch during the test drive. had the car checked out and was advised it was good to go. the car was delivered on 30 april. it was finally driven on 5 monday 2014 down to fort campbell, ky. at that point the car reaked of burning ceramic and the power steering locked up completely. after resting it for a few minutes and restating the car, it reengaged. contacted dealer and was advised to go to local chevy dealer for assessment. chevy dealer advised that the power steering module was reading that it was out of center and disengaging. was also advised that a part of the clutch assmbly had been replaced a few thousand miles previously and seemed to be rubbing incorrectly. knox ford advised me to return the car to their dealership (120 miles away) and they would work on the car. upon leaving the other dealership, the power sterring locked up again and didn't reengage. drove the car 120 miles without power steering and returned to knox ford to have them take to to a chevy dealership. the power steering module was replaced and the car aligned. the chevy dealer couldn't find an issue with the clutch. reclaimed the car on 16 may 2014 and drove the car back down to fort campbell today 19 may 2014. once again, the burning smell has returned. not as strong but it's still there.

2012 chevy cruze purchased in august 2012. has coolant smell when heat is on (any setting). temperature would drop and start blowing out cold air when heat was turned on. checked coolant level and was a little low. filled it up and the smell was even stronger. engine fan constantly runs. working on getting it to the dealership but unable to get a loaner car so i can go to work. cannot take time off of work to take it to the dealership, so i am in a "catch 22". read numerous reports of the same thing happening to other people.

this car has had several problems. they have had to replace a vacuum pump, the engine shield recall, the brakes stick, there is a horrible smell of hot transmission fluid constantly, the transmission coolant lines have been replaced, a pump above the fuel tank has been replaced, the car surges and causes the rpm gauge to bounce, the axles have had leaks fixed, the exterior trunk button doesn't work, driving down the road it sounds like a plastic bottle is stuck inside the passenger side front door, some times after putting the key in the ignition it won't turn, the suspension system pops and cracks, the axle squeals, shifts at inappropriate times or not when it is supposed to, the back up sensor will beep when nothing is there some times, doesn't feel like there is any pressure behind the brakes some times, and smoke row out from under the hood when stopped at stop lights some times. i think that is every thing but it has been a constant nightmare. i am guessing on miles and dates, but it was not very long after i got it brand new that it started having problems. when i started having shifting and leaks in the transmission, the dealership couldn't figure out what was wrong, i had to point out the leak myself and then he said he would get the parts ordered and they would be in within 3 days. 2 weeks later i called gm, then it was within a week i was contacted by the dealer that they had the parts, after gm said someone would contact me within 48 hours. this has been such a hassle i am now vehicle shopping and will not purchase another chevrolet.

vehicle no longer acknowledged presence of the key fob in vehicle and warned that the vehicle should not be shut off. key fob was in the vehicle at the time and had been detected to unlock the door automatically and allow ignition of vehicle by pressing start button while fob was in my pocket. once we stopped the vehicle, it would not restart until 9 or 10 tries of pushing the ignition. after the initial occurrence while driving, it then sporadically had issues with starting. each time it it would show a warning message that the key fob was not detected, even though it just auto unlocked the doors after sensing the key fob. dealer replaced key fobs, and problem returned. two days later nearly stranding my wife while travelling out of town since the car would not initially start. dealer then replaced the module/computer that controls the keyless functionality. problem reoccurred a few days later. dealer will now replace the key fobs again while the vehicle is in for a separate repair.

failure of water pump. on the morning after normal work commute of 60 miles, found spilled coolant under vehicle. gm service replaced the water pump under warranty. vehicle only had 25k miles and the water pump failed-unacceptable.

i received my chevy cruze ls in august of 2012 after having it for a week i started to notice issues with the transmission. i drove it up north and after being on the freeway going a constant speed of 75 mph, when forced to slow down due to traffic the car could not figure out what i was trying to do and just had a mind of its own. the rpms would shoot up very high and the car would struggle to accelerate (almost as if it were stuck in neutral) and eventually it would jerk forward very hard and then accelerate. this happens every time i get on the freeway now and have to slow down because of traffic or slow down to get off at the exit (and continues well after being off the freeway). i am lucky i haven't been rear ended and severely injured or killed. i've had the car for almost two years now and its only gotten worse, it now does the same thing when driving down the street at 30 mph, it will be going along just fine then all of a sudden the engine revs as if it were shifted into neutral and then catches itself and jerks really hard and is fine again. also when slowing down it seems to downshift too quickly almost coming to a complete stop on its own, which is why i am afraid of being rear ended. i have taken the car in to 5 different dealerships and am told every time that either they don't see the problem and i don't know what i'm talking about or they can see there's a problem but there's nothing they can do about it. i'm very disappointed in the quality of this car, i've also had issues with the radio and my usb cord not connecting to my phone and even when it does connect the songs come through with lots of static. i have tried different cords, different phones and multiple ipods and it keeps happening. i feel totally helpless and am sick of feeling unsafe in my car. my family has always bought gm cars, this is my second chevy and my last!!

my 2012 chevy cruze turned the radio dashboard on/off and the heck engine light came on in december 2013 the engine light remained on the radio only once then didn't do it again. in february 2014 it started doing it again this time the stereo would turn on/of, the dash board on/off and my locks would unlock and lock themselves the blinker stopped making the clicking sound and the open door sound failed as well. this problem would occur occasionally until april 2014 the vehicle started to do all the issues above except this time it would include anti theft,service stabiltrack,and power warnings every time and the vehicle would turn off/on the engine and required me to put it on park and turn it off/on. in may 12 of 2014 i took the vehicle into the chevrolet dealer to resolve this issue.they resolved several issues to what they believed resolved the issue of the vehicle turning on off. that didn't resolve the issue. my vehicle now is worse it turns off/on while driving accelerating or decelerating. it turns the radio on/off and gives me the same errors codes. its life threatening as i almost got into a accident jumping onto the free way june 1014, my vehicle turned off and would not turn on on the free way entrance and a vehicle from behind was about to hit me. my vehicle is un safe for ,me and my family keeps turning on/off and i have taken it to chevrolet dealer 3 times and they do not know what is wrong. life threatening issues!!

i will be driving down the road and all of a sudden i will get a warning light saying to 'service airbag'. i took it to a dealership and they said the airbag sensor for the passenger airbag is bad and the only way to fix it is to replace the entire passenger seat. they also said the warranty would not cover this replacement and it would cost over $1,000 for a new seat. this is a serious safety issue that needs to be handled properly. if a person is driving down the road with a passenger and the airbag isn't reading that a person is in the seat serious fatalities may occur.

i was backing out of my garage and as i pushed on my brake pedal to slow down and manuever out of the garage i realized the pedal would not go down and the car kept going in reverse with no way of stopping it! there was no give to the brake pedal at all, it was as if it was locked up. i rolled backward several feet while still pushing on the brake and eventually the pedal went down and the car stopped. this happened about a month ago, but i thought, at the time, i must have done something silly like hit the floorboard with my foot . i now realize this could be a real hazard to myself and others. i did have a recall on the brakes some months ago and i took my car into to have it done. this has happened twice since chevrolet fixed my recall. this is very concerning!!

in april i had been driving and noticed that my radio was flickering. after about ten minutes of my radio flickering on and off, the "service stabilitrack" light came on. once the service light came on, power steering shut off and i had to pull the vehicle over. after pulling over, i shut off the vehicle and then tried to restart it. this time it started with a new service light on. i took the car into the dealership and they had it for three days hoping that the problem would present itself to them. i showed them a video of what happens to the radio and they were unable to help me. they did however notice that a previously recall done on my car had not been fixed before i purchased it. a few days after getting the car back, the lights started to flicker again. i contacted the dealership and they let me know that there was no point in bringing it in unless the problem was constant. about a month later, i went to start my car and nothing. no lights, no engine turn over nothing. my key was stuck in the ignition and would not turn. my fiance had to get out tap the battery and the whole thing started up. two days ago, the same radio, service lights and engine shut off happened again. this is 2 times now that i have had complete failure in the middle of the road. i am literally terrified for my life!!!!!!!....updated 07/31/14 *bf

this incident has happened on numerous occasions and was taken to the dealership three different times to address the issue... the problem is still occurring and nothing is resolved. radio would turn on/off and dashboard lights kept flickering, service traction control and service stability trak would pop up along with the engine light and traction control light and the vehicle turned on/off. engine would sound really loud at times, even after the car was turned off (maybe it was the engine fan but i'm not sure)... this car is nothing but problems after problems and they are not getting resolved because they keep reoccurring.

transmission?? i noticed when driving from anywhere from 30-60 mph, that the car does not seem to shift right. it violently shakes before reaching the shift point and the tachometer will surge both on cruise and regular acceleration. i've taken it to the dealer 3x and they test drove it, confirming the problem. however, no lights came on and the diagnostic tests they did were inconclusive. they told me unless there is a recall for that reason or a light comes on for the diagnostic code, they can't do anything else, because they don't know what to look for. it is progressively getting worse and i am almost scared to drive it to my job (an hour away) for fear of the unknown... will it catch on fire, will the transmission fall out, etc??? i'd really like to know what the problem is, so it can be fixed. the dealership told me that there were many complaints about this same thing with cruzes around that year, especially with turbo, and that i should contact you to see if there is anything you can do as an investigation on the matter. i did get a recall notice on the vacuum pump, but not the air bag coil, as of yet. i'm still waiting to see if that applies to me. thank you for your help in this matter.

similar issue to the previous brake recall to which repair was completed on this vehicle months prior to these incidents. the brake peddle on the car would become much harder than anticipated multiple times, mostly when first starting the vehicle or reversing from a parking spot, had several near miss accidents at low speeds, over the course of several months. the dealership claimed that it had nothing to do with the recall that replaced the microswitch in the power brake vacuum pipe assembly. rather they replaced the brake vacuum boost hose assembly, claiming that was where the problem originated from and had nothing at all to do with the microswitch even though the recall was for very similar problem.

i was driving home from work, about 15 miles on the freeway at the speed limit which is 75 mph. the car with no warning completely shut itself off. as a result, i lost the ability to steer or break. i would estimate it stayed off for approximately 5 seconds before kicking back on, without my having to restart. i treated this as an anomaly. last week on my way to work, which is in the dark at 3am, it shut itself of 3 times within 10 miles of a 70 mile drive. each time giving me a service indicator light of some sort ( service stabilitrak, service anti theft...) i had no steering, no breaks and no lights. again this is in the dark!! i noticed that there are 43 other complaints of this very serious safety issue with no resolution from this site , the dealerships or the manufacturer. is it going to take a death or horrifyingly bad accident to get this addressed???

since 11/13 to present, i've been experiencing instances with the stability trak issues with the radio turning on/off for a few mins; the dashboard lights would blink and go dim; it happened often when i'd use the defogger and try to let the window up/down and it would also dim my headlights (i noticed that in the evenings) or even just using the turn signal. recently i was hitting the highway & the power steering went out, the doors unlocked & the messages were on my dash. there's also a dark ring around my steering wheel for the airbag that i believed tried to open. i had to turn the steering wheel with a lot of force to pull to the side of the road to avoid getting hit from behind. i turned the car off & waited a few minutes & turned it back on. it came back on with no issues. the next day the power steering went out again but this time i was in the driveway after arriving home. both times that this has happened, i was using my ac. i went to the dealership & was told that the codes may not come up since it had only happened 2 times. i took it to advance auto and they put it on their computer and no codes showed up. i was told by the place that i purchased my car from to wait for the recall. i've been checking every day since then to see if there is a recall for my car because i don't want to pay for repairs that should already be on the recall list! i'm too afraid to drive the car a long distance for fear of getting hit or even killed by other vehicles if & when my car does it again.

c/s ses light was on. i took car to norman frede chevrolet for repairs. the determined that there was a vacuum leak at the engine cam cover and replaced it - or so they said. here is the invoice statement: "po171 vac leak at engine cam cover 4060930/0.6 replace engine cam cover. clear code 6061" after getting the car back, i went to nbt and had the oil changed. the next morning i drove to dallas from houston. on the way, i had another code light and called the dealership. when i got back from dallas on sunday june 29, 2013, i discovered that there was oil on the back of my car bumper and trunk. i took it to nbt and they inspected it and confirmed that they did nothing wrong to cause the oil leak. nbt confirmed that the engine was leaking oil at the cam cover. i dropped the vehicle at norman frede on sunday and am in the process of getting to the bottom of the problem. the nbt person was surprised that the cam cover was plastic. this oil leak could have caused an engine fire. i am also concerned about a plastic cam cover. should not a cam cover be metal? is this a chronic problem?

i am filing a complaint on a 2012 chevrolet cruz ls, that i purchased at cowboy motors. i purchased this vehicle on june 07, 2013,it had 46211 miles and it now has 49789 miles. recently, my wife noticed the radio would cut off and a month ago she told me about an issue dealing with the steering. she said it would get hard to control and sometimes almost impossible. also, the dash indicator light came on symbolizing that we needed to check the steering. i begin to drive the car to see what was happening, nothing happened, until about 10 days ago it happen to me. i have called the dealership and asked if there has been any problems listed with the steering, i was told no but i should bring it in since i had a extended warranty and it would cost a $50 deductible if the warranty covered it. i got on the internet and found out that there is a list of people with the same problem as ours. i am fearful for my wife and grandchildren. i feel that this is a defect in the automobile and something should be done by the dealer or manufacture, to address the problem and from what i read, no one seems to know what the problem is exactly. this is a safety factor issue and my concern is what can i do to get my car fix without it costing me.

several times now (usually after it rains but persisting long after) i have been having electrical problems with my 2012 chevy cruze. at random, the radio loses power and may come back on automatically or flicker continuously. it occasionally happens when i press the brake, use the turn signal, or roll down the window. about every 3rd time on average that i have noticed this i also see a message come across the display that says "service stabilitrak" or other random messages or dash lights. once the "power steering" notification came on and i could feel the car lose power steering for only a moment. one other thing that has happened was that my horn sounded all on it's own when the radio flickered. i called my dealership and they had me bring my car in for testing after this first happened. they were unable to find anything wrong with my car, and after they performed these tests my car did not malfunction again for quite a while. it is scary driving down the road when this happens because i don't know if i am losing power to the headlights/tail lights when this is happening, and since it happens at random i can't just ask someone if it is happening. glad to see other people are having this problem, because the people at the car dealership looked at me like i was insane :/ please help gm, please find what is causing these short circuits and issue a recall!

-the following symptoms occur intermittently (approximately one time per month) -while operating the vehicle, the issue typically begins with the center radio display and sound flickering on and off. -next, various electrical systems in the car begin to malfunction. this includes traction control, power steering, headlights, turn signals cruise control, window functions, and brake lights. -the vehicle does not only report the system malfunction, but will actually experience failure (etc, power steering is actually disabled in the car). power steering was once lost at the bottom of a switchback in the mountains. i nearly lost control of the vehicle. -after this issue occurs, if the vehicle is turned off it will not restart for 30-60 minutes (unless the battery is disconnected and reconnected). -during this period it will not restart, none of the electrical functions of the car will work (doors will not lock, windows will not move, lights will not turn on, etc). -also, during this period i have noticed a sound within the dashboard. this sounds like a small electric motor running for approximately 60 seconds.

on this particular occurrence the lights on the radio display began to flicker and then all electrical power to the dashboard, airbags, and the electrically assisted power steering went out. it remained off for approximately 10 to 15 seconds. as a result i had no control over the vehicle. the electrical came back on and the dash display depicted the warning message check stabltrack, or words to that effect. i took it to the dealership and they said that nothing showed up on the scope and there was nothing they could do. this has also happened to my grand daughter on 07/09/2014 out in colorado as she is using the vehicle for school and work. again the dealer states there is nothing showing up on the scope and they have not been able to duplicate the issue even though she had her friend record the event with their cell phone. during this event the vehicle could not be restarted after the vehicle was turned off in a parking lot. after an hour wait the vehicle was started.

purchased used 2012 cruze from local chevy dealer. steering has no free play in the steering wheel, causing constant back and forth corrections and swerving in lane especially at high way speeds. got pulled over by police thinking i was drunk. also takes a lot of effort to keep the car centered down the lane, and if you stop focusing on the steering for even a second the car is swerving out of the lane. congratulations to chevy for producing such a fine product. apparently they never thought to drive the prototype to see if the stupid thing works. duhhhh thank you.

i bought a 2012 cruze in march. it ran great when i test drove it and for the first couple of months. then at the 3rd month we started to have problems. it has about 29000 miles on it right now. all of a sudden, the time/temp/date display (along with the radio) started blacking out. then a few times the "service power steering" warning light flashed on and off and we actually lost our power steering momentarily. very scary. then the "service stabilitrak" warning light flashed on and off as well. at the same time the time/temp/date blacks out again too. our car is gm certified and still under the factory warranty, so we took it in to our local chevy dealer. (we did not buy it from them, but it is closer than the place we bought it) they have tried at least 3 times to fix it since this started. but when they drive it, nothing happens. it only does it when we are driving!. now the chevy dealer can't find anything wrong on the computer, they can't duplicate the problem when they drive it. they replaced the brake module. no luck. after about 3 weeks, they returned the car to us last night and said we should get rid of it. i am completely shocked. i don't know what to do. the service person even told us to take it back where we bought it and demand they give us a different car! i picked up the car last night and this morning drove it about 1 mile and the time/temp display went out again, even longer than before. can't hear the blinker blink and, the "service stabilitrak" light went on again. please help! force gm to recall these. i am afraid to drive it. part of the frustration is that the dealership service personnel said they called gm and the engineers, and other dealerships and they said none of them had ever had this happen. i don't believe them.

bought the car used from a non-chevy dealer in june 2014. after about a month or so and 44000 mpg. all of a sudden, the time/temp/date display (along with the radio) started blacking out. then a few times the "service power steering" warning light flashed on and off and we actually lost our power steering momentarily several times and today 07-20-2014 with me, my husband and 6yr old daughter in the car!!!! very scary. then the "service stabilitrak" warning light flashed on and off as well. at the same time the time/temp/date blacks out again too. the car loses power when traveling at speeds over 50mph. all the warning lights have flickered on and off several times along with the power steering and stablitrak. this issue needs to be addressed. i will be contacting a dealer and legal action will be taken if issue isn't resovled. peoples lives and safty are not something to be taken lightly.

while driving, my car dash board and radio flicker and i lost total power/lights for about 15-20 seconds. panic, as i think the car has stalled in traffic. radio and dash lights came back on but i received an error message "service brakes on" or something similar (as it only displays for a few seconds). this is the 5th time i have experienced this problem. i have taken it in for service 3 times. 1st service call no error could be detected. the 2nd service call i was told my radio was defective, and a new one was ordered and installed. 3rd service, my car has been there for 2 days, and i am being told a technician is working on it. i am worried this car will stall on me and place me in a very dangerous situation due to not having power control due to this intermittent flicker. ..updated 08/11/14 *bf

on the first occurrence the lights on the radio display began to flicker and then all electrical power to the dashboard. the electrical came back on and the dash display depicted the warning message check stabilitrak. i took it to the dealership where i purchased the car and they said that high voltage codes c0800, 07 and high voltage history showed up on the scope and there were no issues. the second time the lights on the radio display began to flicker and then all electrical power to the dashboard, airbags and the electrically assisted power steering went out, while on a very steep mountain road and i had no control over the vehicle. the electrical came back on and the dash display depicted the warning message check stabilitrak. i took it to a different dealership and the dash flickering occurred with the service person in the car driving but nothing showed up when the mechanic was trying to fix it so they said there was nothing they could do. two days later while my daughter was driving she lost power steering and the same issues with the dash and was involved in an accident, thank god her baby was not in the car. please help!....updated 07/31/14 *bf

2012 chevy cruze, 30,000 miles, bought from gm certified dealer 3 weeks ago. while driving, dashboard flickers on and off. stabilitrak, radio, airbags, etc all flicker while driving or completely shut down. 4x last week vehicle lost all power and would not restart until nudged the battery. 15 july 2014, took to dealership, battery replaced and cables cleaned of corrosion. vehicle starts now, but flickering continued today. assume problem will persist and worsen due to previous complaints. bought vehicle for reliability, see now that chevrolet cannot provide that, nor the appropriate response of recalling this vehicle's malfunction. not only nervous due to unreliability of vehicle and safety, but also disappointed in chevrolet.

stopped car tried to back up and it did not, then tried to turn off vehicle and the key would not go into the turn off mode. could not turn the steering wheel, could not release the key, could not turn off the engine. the radio kept turning itself on. waited 2 hours for triple a to come to tow the car to dealership. engine ran for two hours. tow arrived the driver said he had to force the gear shift several times in order to release the steering wheel and key and to turn off the engine so he could tow it. also noticed an anit-freeze leak and this is being fixed under the power train warranty, do not know if is connected to the same issue. dealer can't find anything wrong and i am afraid to drive this car

car radio kept cutting on and off multiple times before all of the car lights flashed on the dashboard and steering wheel became stiff. i pulled over on the side of the road, cut the car off and pulled out the key. i put the key back in the ignition and tried to start the car and it wouldn't start. the lights and radio didn't even come on. i couldn't put the key back in the off switch nor could i pull the key out. after about a minute or so my radio came on and i was finally able to start my car.

i got my car in march & absolutely loved it! for the first few months i had no problems. then i started to notice the radio flickering on and off while driving for no reason, which eventually led to the radio flickering continuously after using blinkers &windows. "service stabilitrak" flashes on the display often but very quickly and goes off. doesn't occur every time i drive, but it does it more times than not. now the radio will flicker and i will occasionally lose cruise control and power steering. i also have no blinkers/radio when this happens. it usually only happens briefly and will return to normal soon after, but it continues to do it off and on until i park. i have also noticed this occurring when i shift gears to park. most recently i went to start my car and it just clicked and wouldn't start. i got it to start and it said "service anti theft deterrent," then changed to "service power steering" just as i lost power steering while driving. "service stabilitrak quickly flashed next all while i lost blinkers, power steering, and radio. i parked, turned my car off and restarted it and it was just fine. it has been to the chevy dealer multiple times but they cannot get a code to read because they can't get the radio to flicker, etc because it only happens every so often but when it does happen it is scary! so there is nothing they can do to fix it. please look into it as i do not feel safe driving. this has been going on for 2 months now and i do not feel like this car is reliable which is the reason i bought it! there has to be something that can be done as i have read several complaints that are extremely similar to mine! i also have come to the conclusion that the problems are going to continue to worsen after reading the other complaints.it is a major problem. please don't wait until something tragic happens before something is done about this! please! ne

besides the transmission complaint i have already made, i am also experiencing constant electrical issues. an update was already ran on the car's computer for this complaint and the ignition switch was lubricated (hopefully that will prevent the steering lock up that others experience). neither gm solution has provided an end to my trouble. dinging when keys aren't in, car won't always start, service this or that dash lights, radio display goes on and off, i can't open my trunk without the push button key fob, the steering is now pulling, and also the headlights are now turning off and on without my hand. there is something wrong with the electrical components of my car, things i should never have to concern myself with...which could lead to any malfunction but the chevrolet techs can not diagnose what they see with their own eyes because the computer of the car doesn't tell them anything is wrong. aren't there alternate troubleshooting methods included with the blueprint they designed besides relying on a possibly third-party control module that isn't logging errors? i just hope i'm ready for whatever happens and that i can control a loss of power without suffering injury to myself or others. scary things to think about on a 100 mile one way, highway speed commute. all of these cars should be overhauled or replaced instead of waiting to see which one's computer from which line crashes first before we put out a recall. these are real safety concerns that are killing people. concerns that i can't just trade off to another blind consumer and their family. concerns that either consumer or manufacturer have to pay for. we pay with our safety and hard earned dollar to own their vehicles that they make and don't take responsibility in maintaining a standard for.

on several occurrences the brakes from my 2012 chevy cruze have failed to work. this is especially true when backing up. the brake pedal gets really hard and you really need to push hard on brake pedal to slow down, vehicle will not always stop. i have noticed it the ac is running this will happen every time i back up. i have had many instances where i have almost hit other cars or objects. i am extremely worried about this because i usually have my 2 young children with me when this happens. i have taken my car into the local dealership to get this checked out. they have told me that the vacuum switch has already been replaced and there would be a $100 charge to diagnose the problem even though my vehicle is still covered by warranty. the last time i took it in they said nothing was wrong with my vehicle, even though i am still experiencing poor braking.

from the beginning i had a recall for the oil pan a week after purchasing the car. there has been numerous times the heating had to be worked on and still not fixed. it stills smells like antifreeze when its on. the right brake cylinder went bad a few months after the purchased. the windshield sometimes whistles when you go down the highway at 65 mph. now after my last oil change the other day, they said i need to take it back because there is a transmission leak. not to mention where i got the car from, they act like they don't care to help fix the problem. very frustrated!

i purchased my 2012 chevy cruze back in august 2012 at the chevy dealer in montebello with "0" miles. two weeks after i purchased the car it began to give me problems. it began to make this very loud noice like if i was driving a trailor. i took it to the dealer an i was told it was normal which is bs because ive never heard a small car that makes noise like that. i wasn't allowed to get refunded i was just given a bunch of bs. a month later it kept doing the same thing but this time the noise was coming from the hood, took it to the dealer and nothing. 3rd time i filed a complaint and said i was going to file a lawsuit and the took my car in an apparently they had to change my radiator, fan, brakes along with the disk. even after all this my car continued doing the same thing but now it turns off!! i tried to turn on my car this saturday and it just wouldnt start. it said something about theft, i disconnected the battery and then it gave a message about check power steering! this will be my 5th time taking it in! i think i have gotten ripped off!! i regreat purchasing this vehicle!! now im stuck with a jacked up car and a very high car payment that is not even worth paying for. and to top it off the dealer i purchased it from is no help!! they seem to get upset every time you take the car and tell them there is something wrong with it. im a mother of 3 and my biggest fear is something happening to my children because of this. i purchase this car because i needed something reliable since im always on the road. one thing for sure, if any of my children get hurt because of this i will file a lawsuit because you guys are receiving many complaints and you are not doing anything about it.!!

i was driving to my parents house and was at a place where i had to turn so i turned and my steering wjeel locked up and i almost hit someone because my steering wheel wouldn't turn. this has happened several times and every time stability track pops up on my screen and my radio flickers on and off and my blinker doesn't make a sound when this happens. now my brakes are starting to act up too when i press the brakes sometimes it rocks back and fourth while i'm stopped also the car makes a funny noise while in park.

previously to the visit my car was running slow and kept marking engine speed reduced then about a week later the car sign removed and started running normally again. about a month or so passed and the same thing happened again then i took the car in and they fixed it but after that the bluetooth didn't work and the navigational compass stopped working. ever since then the bluetooth and navigational compass has not worked and i just run the risk of the engine reduce sign to pop up again cause it comes up spontaneously.

i have a 2012 chev cruz with a tire that keeps losing pressure. the chev garage told me that it has several micro holes and recommended replacement at $250/tire and that i needed to buy 2 (because you can't just replace one). i asked the technician how this can happen and he said it's nothing i did and that michelin tires are known to have flaws such as this but no recall on my tires yet. dot: b9mt 003x 0912 (p225 45r18) 91w (michelin pilot hx mxm4) (134388m) . very frustrated as this is a new car
