2021 Porsche Panamera And Taycan Suspension Problem

Porsche have decided that a safety issue exists in certain 2021 Porsche Panamera and Taycan cars after receiving three reports of vehicles of different mileages experiencing a broken suspension trailing arm. Approximately 565 vehicles have been identified through production records as possibly having this problem.

According to the defect report, a supplier production issue of the front lower trailing arms in the subject vehicles may have resulted in the arms not being forged to specifications. The durability of the trailing arms could be compromised and could fracture. If this happens, the driver may experience a deterioration or complete lose of control.

The trailing arm may break without warning with an audible cracking noise. Loud grinding and rattling noises may occur, and the steering wheel may be noticeably misaligned (up to 45°) even during light braking.

Owners receiving notices will be asked to return to their dealerships to have the front lower trailing arms replaced. Porsche's number for this recall is AMB2 and the NHTSA campaign number is 21V-362.
