2022 Kia Carnival Fuel Rail Tube Leak

On 2021-04-29 09:26:20

Certain 2022 model year Kia Carnival minivans manufactured between January 2021 through March 2021 may have been manufactured with a fuel rail tube that could leak.

According to the defect report filed with the NHTSA, the assembly jig for the MPI fuel rail was improperly adjusted by the supplier. The problem could result in damage to the plastic fuel rail tube that could become a fuel leak and a potential fire risk.

All owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by first class mail with instructions to return to their Kia dealers to have the MPI fuel rail inspected to determine if the rail is affected by this recall. If the lot number on the MPI fuel rail falls within the affected range, it will be replaced with a new one.

Kia's number for this recall is SC211 and the NHTSA campaign number is 21V-277.
