AIR BAGS

tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge journey. the contact stated that while driving 45 mph, he crashed into a vehicle exiting an alleyway. the air bags did not deploy and three passengers were injured. the vehicle was towed to the dealer and was not repaired. the air bag failure had not been inspected. the failure and current mileages were 2,000. the vin was unavailable.

POWER TRAIN

i was driving at 830pm and had at least 120 miles on the same road and set the cruise control to 68mph, the legal speed was 65mph and there was light traffic. as my car approached a small hilly incline, it failed to maintain the 68mph, dropping to 60mph, and then upon reaching "the top" it accelerated rapidly reaching high rpms roughly 5500 6000 and over compensating to as much as 77 before slowing down to the preset speed. after doing this 3 more times, i pulled over turned off the car and started it up, hoping it may just be a quick fix. it once again did it and i refrained from using the cruise control for the remainder of my trip. on my way back, i once again tried the cruise control again and saw the same results. upon returning home i called my dealer and they told me they would look at it at my next appointment which was 10 days later. 2 days prior to me bringing in the car, i tried it for a third time, this time set at 45mph, same as legal speed limit, while continuing up from a parkway onto a bridge entrance, the car did it again and nearly sent me flying into the back of a truck but i was able to break fast enough to slow down and do a minor swerve within my lane to avoid it. this was immediately followed by a low engine coolant warning and i pulled over as soon as possible. the coolant reservoir was well above the minimum level, however had orange coolant on top of it. i cleaned up what i could and did below speed limit home. this was my second issue with the coolant warning, at 1150 miles i brought it in and the dealer found no codes that it even occurred and therefore did not fix a thing. upon dropping off my vehicle, they did not seem at all concerned and thought i was making it up. i do not feel safe in my own car. *js

POWER TRAIN

brand new vehicle and the transmission shutters when shifting gears. i took it to one dealership and they said they "reset" the computer chip and that should fix the problem.... it didn't!! i took it to another dealership and i was told that this is "normal". what!!!!!!!!! how can that be normal for any vehicle. the service director told me that most people don't feel it until 3000-3500 miles. are you kidding me!!!!!!!! now i'm waiting to hear from chrysler to see what can be done!

SERVICE BRAKES

brakes on the 2012 dodge journey squeaked and appeared to not want to stop properly. i took vehicle in for service and was told that it was break dust that caused the problem. after the squeaking got worst, i took it back in was told that they replaced my brake pads. here i am 2 months later with the same problem. in addition, the vehicle has a slow take off. when trying to obtain speed the vehicle stalls before speed is picked up. now, i'm having problems with the passenger seatbelt not giving a light signal nor alarming signal that seatbelt is not on.

we purchased a brand new 2012 dodge journey in march 2012. the car had 14 miles on it, our first new car. shortly after driving the car around for about a month, we started having problems with the transmission. we noticed that when coming to a stop the transmission starting stuttering and it would shake the whole car. we thought it was just that once, but then it started happening almost every time we would come to a stop, whether we were slowing down coming off of a highway or sitting through stop and go traffic. we took it to the dealership and they couldn't recreate it. they hooked it up to their computer and found no issues. 3 months later we decided to take it in to be looked at again. while driving the car they were able to recreate the stuttering, this time while accelerating. since then they have been back and forth with chrysler and have had the car in the shop for 2 weeks now. chrysler is now having them open the transmission and replace some parts. this concerns me since this is a brand new car!

while driving the car on a busy road it suddenly lost power and died while driving it, had it towed to a dealership and it was discovered that the fuel pump fuse had blown, the car is only 1yr old. the second time we were driving down a busy high way and the same thing happened this time it was determined that the fuel pump was bad the dealer replaced it, there have been a multitude of problems with this vehicle from the ac not coming on to the radio/nav screen not coming on when the car is started. brake problems seems to be the next thing that is rough on this vehicle.

i purchased the vehicle on june 15,2012. unexpectedly, on september 22, 2012 my vehicle lost control at the location i 287nb exit 41a parsippany ramp onto 80 e traffic then my vehicle lost control and slammed onto the guard rail repeatedly. i immediately notified john johnson of the incident and i pleaded for them to send me a tow truck because of my 100,000 mi warranty. further, i contacted the manufacturers chrysler group and explained the situation. eventually, because of the accident cause and effect they took the vehicle and send for a contractor inspector from pennsylvania to inspect the car. after the inspection, the contractor contacted me and told me he is sending in the report to chrysler and wait a week before contacting them for a copy of the report. moreover, i followed up, and chrysler could not tell me who was handling my case. finally, after pursuing my case someone told me that my vehicle case file was closed and sent to the legal department because it was determined that my vehicle steering wheel went out. further, i was told that someone would be in contact with me shortly. no one contacted me and several weeks passed and i still didn't hear anything from the chrysler group. i tried again until i got an answer and i was told to expect a letter and no further information was provided. eventually, after a long wait, i received a letter that stated that my claim is denied and that the inspector did not find any manufacturing defect that caused the accident. i asked for a copy of the report and chrysler refuse to provide me with the inspection report that gathered information from the vehicle imaging onboard computer systems. additionally, i am still without my car or a car. my family and i have had pain and suffering and hardship over this ordeal. and i am still making monthly payments for a car i don't have or drive. can you please help me?

when applying the brakes and coming to a stop there was an awful grinding noise and it felt as if the vehicle might be jerking or not stopping correctly. i brought it to the dealership first thing on monday and after their inspection was told that the rear brake pads are defective. there was some surface rust on the pads and rotors, but i was told that is normal and that these parts accumulate rust overnight but it normally grinds off when driving the next day. the dealership did not have the rear brake pads or rotors in stock, so they are on order. i was told the vehicle would be ok to drive until the parts come in and they instructed me that i had to come pick the journey back up and could not leave it at the dealership. with the grinding noise, vehicle jerking and new knowledge of the "defective" parts, i am not comfortable driving this vehicle right now.

while i exited off a highway ramp to proceed on another highway, i put my indicator on to break into highway traffic, my vehicle then lost control by itself and slammed repeatedly onto the guard rails. the vehicle did not come to an immediate stop so i struggled to gain control and the vehicle stopped approximately .45 mi from the accident. it is a new car with a 100,000 miles warranty so i called the manufacturer and made a complaint. they had an investigator come out and investigate the crash and car and i don't know what the end result is because up to this day i have not received a copy of the report or any information on what happened to my car the day of the crash. i am devastated because i have been without my car ever since. it is still in the manufacturers possession. they do not answer any of my calls or respond to any of my massages. i struggled the entire winter months with my children because we had to walk in severe weather and temperatures. i am a mom with five children and its been a struggle fro me not knowing anything about my car or having it to use. please help me because this is abuse and injustice to my civil rights.

tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge journey equipped with kumho solus kh16 225/55/r19 (dot 27pjya5m4411) tires. the contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the front passenger's side tire blew out causing damage to the rim. the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic for the replacement of the tire. the mechanic stated there were cracks on the tires sidewall. after replacing the tire, the failure recurred. the front driver's side tire also blew out. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 3,037.

have had my dodge purchased new for a little less than one year. at around 20,000 miles i noticed the tires seemed to be wearing excessively which i thought was strange with new tires. i requested at my next oil change to have them rotated to see if that would help. never paid it much more attention until my traction light kept coming on when driving in regular weather conditions in addition to wet conditions. i contacted the dealer had my car inspected. the suspension and alignment seemed to be fine there was no explanation why my tires at that point 28,000 were balled and down to the tread indicators on all four tires. the dealership contacted kumho who advised i did not have a warranty for regular tread wear and dodge states they have nothing to do with the tires the warranty is through kumho. well would you expect to have an unsafe vehicle to drive because of no tread being left at 28,000 miles? i would not until i contacted kumho to discuss myself and were advised that the tires are made out of a compound that is not meant to last that long and are not of the same material as you would buy a new set of tires of the same brand and size from a tire dealership directly. they make the tires to the manufacturer specifications and they are not meant to last so balled tires at 20,000 miles is acceptable and safe for new dodge journey owners! when i am in an accident with my family because of these tires being made out of a compound that is only meant to last a few miles then someone will here me then i am sure! bad business move to make inferior tires to put on new vehicles and then point the fingers at eachother and no one is responsible! sad!

i was traveling in the slow lane of route 2, when another car crashed into the side of me. car hit directly in drivers door. the side of the car was damaged badly, to the point where the doors were not able to be opened. i had to be removed out of the passenger side of vehicle. i was transported to the hospital with bruises and pain to the left side of my body. i bought this vehicle because of the safety systems. none of the air bags deployed in the car. the side impact bags did not deploy. i hit my head hard on the driver door. why would these safety systems not work?

the car disables while driving and does not start properly. the car has been at the dealership 5 times since i purchased it and each time they were unable to fix the car. i believe the car is a lemon and want to spare someone the nightmare that i have been experiencing.

we purchased a new 2012 journey in march 2012 from are local dodge dealer...bought a new vehicle because we did not want to be shelling out money for repairs....have been a dodge customer for some 20 yrs... all in all..i love my journey...can't say the same for the dealer or chrysler.. in march of 2013 at about 12,500 my mechanic suggested i might want to get alignment checked out because the front tires were wearing abnormally...i tried to call the dealer about the warranty to see if this was covered...they never called me back....on 6/15/13 at about 13,000...i went back to my guy...he informed me that the front tires were indeed bald already, and suggested i go to the dealer to see what they could do....i was greeting by a very smug, cocky and rude service manager named john.....he told me chrysler does not stand behind the tires or the alignment.....really john???? even at 13000 you don't see a possible problem ?? what did i pay 26,000 $ for ?? at this point john and i exchanged some words and he said you too.....ended up having my guy take care of this...600 $ later, and feeling much safer, i now have two new tires on the front, fixed the alignment and also put in two front camberts. which he thought were defective from the factory knowing the car has not been hit.. also have noticed the when driving at lower speeds (10-30) that it seems like the acceleration seems to struggle or wants to skip at times....i have seen this issue mentioned before. while my issues do not compare to some of these others on here....an issue still the same that cost me 600 $ and an issue that will lead me to another dealer when the time comes !!!!!!

we purchased a new 2012 journey in march 2012 from are local dodge dealer...bought a new vehicle because we did not want to be shelling out money for repairs....have been a dodge customer for some 20 yrs... all in all..i love my journey...can't say the same for the dealer or chrysler.. in march of 2013 at about 12,500 my mechanic suggested i might want to get alignment checked out because the front tires were wearing abnormally...i tried to call the dealer about the warranty to see if this was covered...they never called me back....on 6/15/13 at about 13,000...i went back to my guy...he informed me that the front tires were indeed bald already, and suggested i go to the dealer to see what they could do....i was greeting by a very smug, cocky and rude service manager named john.....he told me chrysler does not stand behind the tires or the alignment.....really john???? even at 13000 you don't see a possible problem ?? what did i pay 26,000 $ for ?? at this point john and i exchanged some words and he said you too.....ended up having my guy take care of this...600 $ later, and feeling much safer, i now have two new tires on the front, fixed the alignment and also put in two front camberts. which he thought were defective from the factory knowing the car has not been hit.. also have noticed the when driving at lower speeds (10-30) that it seems like the acceleration seems to struggle or wants to skip at times....i have seen this issue mentioned before. while my issues do not compare to some of these others on here....an issue still the same that cost me 600 $ and an issue that will lead me to another dealer when the time comes !!!!!!

today driving down the road with buildings on both sides i heard squealing echoing. as i came to a stop in my garage and shut the door i smelled the most awful burning smell. my fiancee say it was metal burning, and i felt by my tires and they were hot. my suv has 23000 and they are mostly highway miles. i did some research on here and found it is a common problem and should not be happening already on my car. i have also had problem with my touch screen radio having a mind of its own. it switches radio stations on its own. it has switched from cd to radio to aux on its own. it has maxed out on volume on its own and it shut completely off on its own. i think there is a short but the dealership can't find anything wrong with it.

started getting a lot of grunting from the front end when going over bumps and turning into driveway. the dealer looked at it and retightened front end parts and so far seems to be ok. also the dual temperature control only blew hot air on passenger side. the dealer had to order a new servo unit for the temperature control. the dealer was very good about it.have a lot of same concerns as other peoples complaints.

brakes have squealed intermittently since purchasing this car. i have returned to dealer at least 4 times. dealer replaced pads twice and rotors once. continued to squeal. replaced pads and rotors with high quality aftermarket parts. now after 4 months pads and rotors are glazed and squeaking again and has a burning smell after driving for short distance. took back to another dealer to check the calipers for sticking. dealer says that calipers are working properly. i feel that this problem can develop into a safety concern. i have two small children so i am concerned for their safety. something is very wrong but no one seems to want to take care of the problem. the vehicle has only 27500 miles and now needs it's 4th set of front brakes.

nearly bald tires after 24,000 miles and two years. neither the dealership or the tire manufacturer will take responsibility of any kind. got stuck in very low levels of snow, slide in wet conditions, etc. kumho tires told me that these tires are made out of a compound that are not meant to last more than 20,000 miles. i feel dodge is deliberately cheating their customers by putting such tires on a vehicle they are selling or leasing.

i got the car brand new on 2012. the car now has 17000 miles, the problem started with the tires when the car had 15000. at speed over 50m i feel shaking in the tires, and feel that the car is not stable and not griped to the way, also the car always slides on curves specially if the road is wet , even if very slightly wet and on low speed. all maintenance to the tires including rotation and allignment used to be done on time at the dealer. when i informed them about the problem they told me that i might need to change the tires, and added that the tires are not covered under the car warranty and that i have to contact the tires manufacture for any available coverage. i contacted the tires manufacture which informed me that these tires has no milages warranty, and added that these tires are specially made for dodge under their requested standards which is less quality than those available in the market. this is a serious safety issue that might result in severe accidents for the dodge journey crew drivers.

i left dallas,tex. sunday,july,20th.headed to long beach,ca. my suv stopped approx. 4 times.there was like a knocking sound or a jolt before each stop.there were no warnings on the dashboard, no steam from under the hood either, but i noticed when i allowed it to set idle for approx. 5mins. i looked under the hood,nothing appeared to be wrong.the suv restarted.this was repeated 3 more times.i arrived in long beach,ca. at approx.11:30a.m. wednesday,i drove to las vegas, no problems! returning from there to ca., it stopped again in baker,ca. it was towed to barstow,ca. the tower and the mechanics at the 76 gas station couldn't find a problem, because no lights appeared in the dashboard. i had to sleep at the station overnight in my vehicle. i poured gas treatment fluid in tank. it seemed to help. the next morning i returned to long beach with no problems. i have not attempted to drive it yet. will be leaving here to return to texas on sunday. will take suv to dodge dealer. you may e-mail me at buchanan.harold@ymail.com.

while driving at approximately 30mph and slowing down the right rear brake would not release which resulted in smoke, overheating of the wheel area and smell of burning brakes. the vehicle was reviewed by a dodge dealer who indicated they could not find any problems with the brakes. this happen two more times with the same outcome from dodge. chrysler supports the dealer and will not take any actions. a complaint was filed with the states attorneys office because it represents a safety issue. meantime, i am taking the car to another chysler dealer for a second opinion which seems to be my only option.
