WHEELS

the "chrome clad" wheels on my 2010 suburban started showing air pocket and i now know chevrolet went the cheap route and put a plastic cover on the wheels for the 75th diamond edition 2010 suburbans.

SEAT BELTS

issue: 2010 suburban 3rd row seats do not have locking seat belts - making them unsafe for an infant car seat. 2009 and previous do have the 3rd row locking seat belts. i took the car to the local dealer where i purchased the car at, and the service manager was able to confirm that the above is accurate (he cross-checked it against a few other 2010/2011 models that also did not have the locking seat belts in the 3rd row seat).

STRUCTURE

rear chevy bow tie allows water inside and starts to have interior peeling.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet suburban 1500. while driving approximately 50 mph, the contact noticed a warning light illuminated that indicated a loss of engine power and the vehicle stalled. the contact was able to restart the vehicle after removing the key from the ignition and waiting several minutes. the vehicle was equipped with on-star and the on-star representative advised that the throttle body sensor had caused the failure. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician advised that the throttle body sensor would need to be replaced and the computer would need to be rebooted. the vehicle was repaired and the dealer covered the costs of repairs. the approximate failure mileage was 41,500.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

while accelerating at 40 mph the vehicle started to accelerate but then it made a clicking noise and slow until speedometer read 15 mph then i was able to accelerate again but gm onstar and the dealer have no information for this problem and cannot duplicate.

CHILD SEAT

tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet suburban 1500. the contact owns a 2011 graco turbo booster seat, model number 1747302, manufactured on june 10, 2011. the contact stated the owner's manual does not provide adequate instructions for the attachment of the booster seat strap. the size of the hole that the strap travels through was extremely narrow; and both booster seat arms were poorly designed. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vin and failure mileage were unavailable. updated 9/20/11 *cn the consumer stated significant assembly was required, the written assembly instructions were poor, and even with pictures provided they were not adequate to ensure safe installation. if the screws were not installed in the arms, they could easily detach from the seat and release the seat belt. the arms of the booster seat were not secure enough or strong enough to retain the shoulder strap in an accident. the arms of the booster seat does not prevent a child from removing the vehicle shoulder strap from its required position below the arm rest. the five slots on the back of the booster seat presented too many possible attachments points for the strap that was provided with the seat. the three slots on the back of the booster seat were too weak to secure the strap, but was the only location where the strap could easily be installed. the two corner slots located on the outer edges of the seat was strong enough to secure the straps, but they were too narrow to make installation of the strap easy. the seat belt attachment clip on the booster seat strap was slotted and could allow the vehicle seat belt to become detached in a violent accident or be removed by a determined child. updated 01/19/12

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

when the vehicle is put in drive or reverse and parking brake is still engaged there is nothing to warn you and the vehicle still performs as though the parking brake were was never engaged then after the vehicle reaches about 10 mph there is warning sound.

WHEELS

after 3 attempts to fix peeling chrome clad wheels the dealer cannot pinpoint the root cause. the dealer will not say either way as to weather or not there is a larger issue in which the integrity of the wheel is being compromised. i am concerned about this issue being more than just an appearance flaw . it seems as though the wheels its self may have stress cracks that cause this issue on the exterior of the wheels which is plastic and around the valve stem which is also plastic. gm insist that there is no larger issue but will not comment on what is causing this issue. i am still questioning the motive for choosing to use plastic and aluminum instead of solid metal considering the overall weight of the vehicle it does not seem to be safe or even close to being safe.

AIR BAGS

my dashboard at my passenger airbag and at my gauge cluster have severe cracks. i'm afraid my passenger airbag will not deploy and my gauges will fall deep inside the dash. gm is aware of the problem, but will not recall for fix. this is a serious concern.
