SUSPENSION

i constantly get a very annoying clunking sound from both driver and passenger side front strut or shock area when driving over uneven pavement or hitting bumps when driving at any speeds, the sound has begun to get louder, the steering gives way to any imperfections on roads or highways regardless of speeds which has now giving me the concern of safety,general motors for some reasons has denied that this is a problem,stating that this is a characteristic of this vehicle.

i was turning the car to leave a parking lot and when i went down the slight slope the struts on the front made such a noise i though something snapped. i haven't had it checked yet but wow poor quality!

brake fluid reservoir cap leaks brake fluid. we have had 4 camaros and the two we have now and our previous two all leaked with thousands of others on the road. gm tsb says replace the cap.they keep using same caps and they still leak!my dealer elkins chevrolet in new jersey ,they even cancelled an appointment i made,they could care less and gave me trouble ordering a new one!

the reverse camera in the rear view mirror,will not go off when put in drive. it takes awhile and when i first gotthe car the minute you put it in drive the camera shut off the way it should as its dangerous when you are in drive and cant look in the mirror! *js

at rpm's approximately 1200-2000 car stutters, like it needs to downshift. happens at various speeds when applying gradual acceleration. dealer service says no error codes found, that this is "normal" on the 6 speed transmission & that because of all of the computer components, the transmission naturally lags. seems to be problem in the torque converter?

tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet camaro. the contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact was able to restart the vehicle. the manufacturer was contacted and had the vehicle towed to a local dealer. the dealer reset the computer but the repair did not remedy the issue. the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer where the dealer reset the computer a second time. the dealer also drove the vehicle for one hundred miles and could not duplicate the stalling issue. the vehicle continued to stall sporadically. the failure mileage was 4,200.

while the vehicle is being driven, and during gradual acceleration, the vehicle hesitates and begins to shudder when it attempts to shift into the next gear. this shudder occurs at multiple speeds, usually around 31mph, 42mph and 53mph. the shuddering only seems to occur during gradual increases in speed, and is not noticed when accelerating at a more rapid pace, such as when entering onto a highway on-ramp. the shuddering fluctuates between mild to severe and is also noticed somewhat when the vehicle is downshifting to a lower gear as well. if the operator temporarily ceases in the acceleration, and then re-engages the acceleration, the vehicle seems to respond. this problem appears to be getting more frequent over the past two weeks, and the problem seemed to increase during a recent longer 3 hours trip. i have noticed numerous other similar complaints while researching this matter via the internet, and the problems seem to be frequently occurring at/after 6000 miles. i am concerned that this problem could result in an accident if i am attempting to merge with on-coming traffic and the vehicle fails to respond to acceleration and/or stalls out.

in may, started to feel a vibration/shimmy of some sort when accelerating in all sorts of speeds. took vehicle to dealership and they could not duplicate. vibration/shimmy continued and gradually become more frequent so took vehicle back to dealership in june in which the tech test drove and was able to duplicate the issue. was told he was not the transmission expert so they had the so called transmission expert test drive and he was unable to duplicate the problem. took my car back to the dealership the very next day and it was determined to be the torque converter. the transmission had to be flushed due to metal shavings in the transmission. i have had continuous problems with the transmission since the torque converter was replaced. the transmission is hesitating when attempting to increase speed, it slams into gear, downshifts when its not suppose to and the vibration is slowly starting to come back. dealership is claiming this is normal for the type of transmission i have and its operating as designed.

i have been having a lot of problems with my steering on this vehicle. i was driving my car and was in a turn when the steering wheel kicked back the opposite direction i was turning and i nearly went off the road. the force was so great that it actually injured my shoulder when the steering wheel kicked back. the steering in the car has since been so sloppy that i am scared to drive it, the car is all over the road. i took the car to the dealer and was told the vehicle needed to be aligned. i took the vehicle to my local tire store and they checked the alignment which was all in factory specs. took the vehicle back to the dealer test drove with a technician who drove with me and he stated it was definitely not an alignment problem. i left the vehicle at the dealer for 3 days and got a call that it was ready to be picked up. when asked what was done i was told nothing...the car needs to be aligned. i had them align the vehicle which by the way did not fix the problem. please help before this car kills me or someone else.

i purchased my 2012 camaro in august of 2012. it was brand new, 0 mileage when i bought it. since i have had it, there have been no issues...until today. i woke up to discover that my entire car was engulfed in flames, also spreading the fire to another vehicle. both vehicles are now totaled. the fire damage was so extensive the camaro is basically a burned frame. all of the glass and body melted. the fire department deemed there was no foul play, and it was an electrical fire. i have been looking online to see if there were any other similar incidents, but i have not found anything yet. i don't know if mine was just defective or what the scenario is, but this definitely needs more research!

hello, i just bought a pre-owned 2012 chevrolet camaro. i just found out that they do not come with a spare tire !! how on earth can gm get away with that. instead, they give you a air pump with some guuuu to seal up the hole. they have got to be crazy. i think there should be a recall and they should give every car a spare tire. is that asking too much? my 2012 camaro had a leak at the master cylinder reservoir! one dealer where i bought it cancelled my appointment and said they would mail me a cap! i refused as this would void the warranty!took to another dealer and they confirmed and replaced cap! about 10k later the brake pedal went to the floor and lost my brakes!dealer ordered a new reservoir and replaced it! i took the car home and foot kept going to the floor! brought car back and dealer said it was fine.they refused to let me speak to a tech or service manager!brought to another dealer and the called gm.there was no brake pressure and no warning lights on! they took off master cylinder and rebled system! less than 100 miles later i went out to start car as i been sick and didn't want a dead battery and foot went right to the floor! i opened hood and reservoir was soaked and brake fluid sprayed onto the positive jumper cable, leaked under master cylinder and you can see that there was a spray pattern directly from the master cylinder! fluid is being forced out and air being sucked back in! car will be towed back to dealer! last time they claimed previous dealer over filled reservoir and that's why there was no pressure! a slightly as they said overfilled master cylinder will never cause a no brake pressure issue! sounds like they were told what to write by gm legal department! front brakes also grind when there is pressure and causing rotors to be grooved! so sad that they don't care that this is a life and death issue! *js

while driving my vehicle down a straight road, the air bag curtains on both sides of the vehicle spontaneously deployed. i was not in a car accident, i was not turning any corners, i did not hit a bump, nothing. i was only driving down a straight road. i had the car towed to the place of purchase (john l sullivan in roseville, ca) because it is still under warranty. when the service tech calls me back, they advise that they are getting codes from the black box that the car has been tampered with and/or has had third party parts installed. this is a bunch of crap because i did not have anything installed other than the lojack that they installed for me and the replacement of a part (i'm not sure what it was) that was causing my check engine light to come on even though i only had the car for 3 weeks, which once again they also installed. when i took the car to them on 4/18/14 for an oil change, i let the service tech know that my service airbag light was on and he advised that i will need to make an appointment to come back another day because it takes 2-3 hours just for them to diagnose the cause but that its probably just a bad sensor (basically blowing it off like it was no big deal). so i said ok and kept driving it with the service airbag light on because he made it seem like it was no big deal. i also do not live near the dealership and use this car to get to and from work everyday so i was also waiting for a convenient time for me to be able to take and leave the car with them for an extended period of time. i am now being told that i need to go through my insurance to get the repairs paid for. this is wrong! john l sullivan and/or gm is responsible for this and need to cover the repairs under my warranty or they need to give me a new car. i am also experiencing chest pain caused from the incident and will be going to the doctors to have it looked at today.

when the ignition switch/ key is slightly bumped with knee, the car shuts off. three times now. dealership not responsive. taught my teen drivers what to do if this happens and this saved my daughter's life when it happened to her.

as i was driving on interstate 85 my car suddenly loss power it did not cut off completely but it felt like the car was shutting down. it slowed down to about 40 mph and it would not accelerate any faster. luckily i was close to work and took the street route and made it to work. the engine light did come on and it said it was low engine power. this was the second time it happened within 3 months. i called onstar the first time and they did a diagnostic which came back saying service engine with some other dynamics i didn't understand. once i got to work and cut the car off i cut it off then tried to start it again to see if it would reset itself but this time it wouldn't start. called chevy and they said to wait a couple hours and try it again otherwise i would need to tow it there. i waited two hours then checked and it cranked right up and engine light went off, called chevy back and they said it probably was just computer problems. now this is happening again and this time the engine light stayed on for three days. but again it went away after that. i'm starting to think that its just something wrong with the engine and next time i wont be so lucky.

i took my vehicle to classic chevrolet grapevine dealership after noticing while i changed my brakes the week before, there was axle grease scattered all over the rear of my rim, hub, axles, and brake components. after inspection, it was determined the cv boot had let go on the inside seal near the hub where the wheel mounts. my car is two years old and only has 42600 miles. i have also heard from several other camaro owners on forums and in person discussions. failure of the axle because of improper lubrication to the axle connection can cause serious injury or death should the axle fail while driving. can you please investigate this issue and determine if a recall should be issued. thank you!

i parked my car around 815pm sunday night 8/24/14.. around 10 pm i went back to my car and got my papers out the trunk. around 1 am my neighbor cane to my door to let me know my car was on fire .. before i was told my car was on fire i did hear a loud boom noise but thought it was a diesel on the highway.

i parked my car around 815pm sunday night 8/24/14.. around 10 pm i went back to my car and got my papers out the trunk. around 1 am my neighbor cane to my door to let me know my car was on fire .. before i was told my car was on fire i did hear a loud boom noise but thought it was a diesel on the highway.

i started to have an issue with the ignition in my car. at all different times the key would stick and not turn in the car. i brought it in and told hem and they aid it was the way i was starting it. that the wheels were not straight. this was not the case as it happened at all different times and i now the wheels need to be straight. i continued to have problems until this day. a few months ago when i was at a dealership in fl where i moved i had such a bad experience and no help for a continued break issues i printed paperwork to file for a lemon law yet have not pursued this as of now. today i received a safety recall on the ignition. this is very troubling to me as i have said since my car was new that there was something seriously wrong with this in my car yet no one would help me. now with the recall notice and the break issue i am wanting to pursue the lemon law. please advise on what i should do.
